Talking History is a documentary series on Rajya Sabha TV charting the past of fabulous Indian cities and their history.
Delhi is also known as a city with its rich past nurturing diverse cultures and faith. One of them is Sufism, the everlasting order of peace, humanity and learning. In this episode of Talking History, we trace back the origins of Chishti Sufi order which though began in Ajmer with the arrival of Khwaja Muinuddin Chishti but grew in Delhi with great saints spreading its message.
The Episode talks about the rise of saints like Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and Roshan Chiraag Dilli. As this new order influenced the society, one of its humble practitioner Amir Khusrau went on to become one of the greatest literary figure in the subcontinent.
