Talk Sport brought back a memory . One Sunday morning the topic of immigration came up. At the end of the program the presenter said that 80% of incoming calls agreed with me.
no he didn't - he reported what the police said, which is what every editor would do - liverpool fans were partly responsible - they (and many teams) had a track record of turning up at 2.55 without tickets, and the easiest way to control that - back then - was to let them in. easier to control inside that out on the streets causing mayhem.

The Sun newspaper wrote some groundless articles, blaming Liverpool fans. Resulting in over thirty years later en mass most Liverpudlians boycotting buying The Sun newspaper.
For a man who claims he “tells it as it is” he sure as hell skirted around The Sun believing the lies and assuming the fans were to blame with a headline stating that fans stole from and pissed on the dead. Real talk - i like it. However, as he said - HIllsboro was over 30 years ago now, so why not show he can see how Liverpool fans and families were feeling and just apologise like an adult?? It seems that this remorselessness, ESPECIALLY in the face of it not being his fault, is why the bad feeling towards him continues.. and i'm sure that the way the Sun handled the minors strike and Thatcher's attitude towards The North in general is behind their loathing of him and I perhaps he knows he cannot win them over.
