For more than a decade, people from all over the state have traveled to one New Mexico zoo to see a strange sight - a talking raven named Joe. - Source: www.krqe.com/news/new-mexico/t...
Creepiest things are that his voice is distinct and concise, instead of 'birdy', like parrots, etc. & that he can pronounce the letters 'm' without lips.
@@tobias9790 ravens can do more than just repeat and mimic research has proven that the average raven has the cognitive intelligence of a 6 year old child.
Yeah ravens can make all sorts of sounds, not only enunciation of words but they can emulate a specific person's voice almost perfectly...minah birds and lyre birds can do this too. The raven my friend had liked to imitate the phone ringing to cooorce poeple into coming into the living room.
"hes not your average raven" you can tell that she has not been around these birds very often. mimicking and yes, even a degree of cognitive speech is actually a very common trait among these cunning and inteligent animals. ive seen even wild ones that talk....in fact the most common example of inteligent speech ive seen among wild corvids is their consistency to laughing at poeple.
@@claires8735 actually they do not need to be in vaptivity, wild ones that observe poeple do this too. They also go beyond mimicking and can grasp simple word Association. They can also count to 12 and add and subtract.
There is a Raven that comes on to my property that mimics a first-person shooter video Game apparently the raven lives on a roof where the bird hears video games from the window of someone playing video games that resides in the house. It is remarkable how well they can mimic anything I have heard wild Ravens mimic car alarm sounds and random radio chat
The news always does a good job of filling 60 seconds of an 80 second story talking to people about the bird and B-roll, instead of just filming the fucking bird of which I tapped on the story in the first place to see.
That's funny because a peacock sounds like a woman being murdered. My parents had the cops called on them, because a woman was being murdered in the back yard. Was a peacock, sounding just like a woman screaming "HELP!".
The actual lyrics by Hendrix went: I'M GOIN' WAY DOWN SOUTH WAY DOWN WHERE I CAN BE FREE AIN'T NO ONE GONNA FIND ME AIN'T NO HANG-MAN GONNA HE AIN'T GONNA PUT A ROPE AROUND ME
He's a lot more average than you can imagine Channel 13s Kim Vallez! I see videos of these wild ravens talking all over the world being wild and talking.
Shaun Jackson DID YOU NOT HEAR, HE IS A RESCUE AND IN ORDER TO SURVIVE MUST STAY THERE… GOD, USE THAT THING BETWEEN YOUR EARS, I KNOW IT HURTS BUT IF YOU DID IT MORE OFTEN IT MIGHT NOT
He certainly dose not look content in there. Would an intelligent person want to spend THEIR life in a cage? And don't tell me it would be for my own good.
