In 2017, Struktur Event held it's largest 3-day creative conference to date. The event was located at the Left Bank Annex in Portland, Oregon, and hosted an impressive array of speakers across the industries in outdoor and performance design, research, sustainability, business, technology, team building and more.
This is the first time the audio-only recordings of the speaker sessions have been released. This session is with Carl Moriarty, Drummond Lawson, and Ian Yolles of Arc'teryx.
New Zealand-born Industrial Designer Carl Moriarty is the Design Director for Apparel for Arc'teryx. For the past seven years, he has led the brand's talented, in-house design team, which continues to set industry standards in design and Innovation. Today Carl has more than fourteen years working at the forefront of apparel and equipment design. As an avid skier, biker, and distance runner, he uses his time in the mountains and on the trials to help validation and refinement of the extensive Arc'teryx product line.
Drummond Lawson the the sustainability director at Arc'teryx. In his three-plus years at the brand, he launched and now leads its social and environmental impact programs. An environmental chemist by background, Drummond previously directed sustainability efforts at Method Products in San Francisco and worked as a materials science and cradle-to-cradle product design researcher at EPEA in Hamburg.
Ian Yolles blends the discipline and strategic acumen of large global brands, the agility of entrepreneurial start-ups and the purpose of non-profits. He has extensive executive level experience managing brand-building and marketing activities for some of the worlds most influential consumer product companies including Nike, Patagonia, and Nau, all of whom defined themselves based on their string commitment to innovation and sustainability.
