Its interesting that Adin writes off his personal beliefs to its just what our generation does. Puts less personal responsibility on him for what he thinks and really gets him stuck in his rut.

You could FEEL him pushing away whenever anything got genuinely real, but I appreciate that you at least tried.

Controversial opinion: I think Adin here did his best considering that he basically came into this completely blind and the fact that he is more or less a slave to his mind, as Dr K pointed out. Also props to Dr K for being so patient with him. I think the more conversations we have with "controversial" content creators, the healthier this community and adjacent communities will become.

What Dr K tried to explain: There are not 2 types of women, there are 2 types of interactions YOU have with women. Other type of people have other types of interactions ("types of women"). The types of women available to you depends on how you act, the circumstances you meet at, the goals in mind you meet with, what information they have about you. This greatly filters out possible "types of women" (types of interactions) you come across. Hypothetically, if you put on an act of being completely different person (assuming you can do it perfectly and nobody notices), the women you meet would become different as well and act differently with you. Different offerings land on people with different goals.

'Yes we need more conversations like this!' - my first thought when I saw this video title. [Qualified therapist take] - Like it or not Adin Ross is a huge influence on young men/teen boys as are the Logan Paul's & Tates of the world. Having a dialogue with someone like Dr K who as far as I can tell is a highly grounded mature and self-aware individual is a step towards spiritual growth and away from the algorithms of greed & ego. You can tell Adin doesn't have these conversations much and you can feel his mask/bravado throughout particularly during the section on 'hoes and queens'. Adin's mask is highly sophisticated - so much so I genuinely couldn't work out whether he was doing the interview from a place of genuine want for authentic conversation or to amuse his 'core audience'. Probably a bit of both. We can actually gain insight into why so many boys are lonely and isolated from girls/women from this video. The story in Adin's head seems to be 'I have to find the 'right' girl/woman to get what I want' e.g. it's on the woman. What Dr K was pulling out of him was another question: 'who do I have to be to attract a girl/woman that I want?'. I hope to see more of these conversations. As difficult as they might be they are essential to bridging a gap between these rigid world views and more open compassionate world views. Sneako next please :)

for those who are criticizing Dr K for having Adin on, you have to understand that this is healthy. I'm not a fan of Adin because of his reputation, but if this conversation planted even a tiny seed in his mind that he can see and acknowledge the deep rooted issues he has, that's great and i'll be proud of him for that.

Just to chime in, I think conversations like this with people who have these types of world views are incredibly important and valuable. Empathy is the only way to illicit positive change

I think the sad truth is that there IS no Adin Ross. The guy cannot maintain a self image for the life of him and is so easily manipulated by everyone around him and doesn’t question it. I’ll never forget watching the J Aubrey video where Tate said “How do I fix you when you are so broken?” And Adin just says, “I Am?” He accepted it so easily it almost broke my heart. I’m not even a fan, it just hurt to see someone accept that so easily as truth. I don’t think Adin can be made to help himself, he needs to want it for himself.

I get the topic on women is hard to listen to and feels cyclical, but its honestly the most interesting part of this conversation. This is Adin coming as close as he has thus far in truly reckoning with his demons. It's hard, sure, but it's what progress looks like sometimes. Can't expect genuine change in any person with this many defensive mechanisms in a single conversation.

This was genuinely painful to watch. Adin's brain is completely destroyed by living in social media and a bad environment since he was even younger than he already is. I would definitely like to see him return, but without feeling the need to constantly entertain and read his chat.

I noticed people chatting: "cringe" "I cant watch this" "he is delusional " "typical zoomer" "immature" I appreciate the way Dr.K approached this unavoidable harsh judgement of the internet. We have the ability to watch these videos to learn, understanding that there are many people just like Adin and it is useful to have these conversations. We all have got a lot to learn. This is a great reminder of it, I am sure it will resonate with many. What I took from this is that lot of us are stuck in our ways, we dont feel like we can control what we do with our time and energy, we dont want to get consumed and at the same time we want to get consumed, because we are hiding and escaping from hurt and struggle. During our life we also realize that people can take it the wrong way if we happen to speak up about our issues, and that means we have to hide and cope even more. I do understand where is Adin coming from. Who knows, maybe during next session he will be more ready to work through his feelings

As a fellow Florida (Miami) man, I know exactly what Adin was talking about. It's the same way people in my middle school, my high school and community college talked, putting so much worth on the external and casting black/white judgement on people based off ultimately minor traits. I've learned that it takes A LOT to learn to be able to see people as people and not the set of traits that you automatically assign to whatever group they are a part of, when you've been surrounded by that kind of rhetoric all throughout your development.

My brother is very similar to adin and I think this will be very helpful in navigating conversations with him. Appreciate the work you do Doctor, it means more than you know.

It's interesting that when the direction shifted you can tell that Aidin wasn't beeing authentic anymore and shared his "mindset" that has been learned from red pill content. Also big respect to Dr. K that he sensed that! The amount of focus and professionalism is imense!!!

This kid, while my age, is so clearly in some absolutely insane headspace. He’s had like 5 major personality shifts in the past year, all being driven by external factors or figures like Andrew tate, which suggests he has an extremely fragile or distant sense of self. It seems silly to pity a millionaire kid who seems to make bad decision and bad opinions at every move, but I honestly wouldn’t trade my spot for his it sounds like a hell scape being so utterly controlled by clout and pleasing your (immature) chat

Adin's views on women are rising in popularity amongst the youth and modern day dating landscape. It deserves discussion because it reflects a lot of contemporary sociological changes.

As someone in their mid-30's, this was absolutely incredible. I too was once a 20 year old boy once lmao. Dr. K did an incredible job of navigating the entire conversation.

This turned into a genuine comedy special in the second hour not gonna lie I’ve never seen such a break neck 180 like this before

I can understand people being upset that Dr. K interviewed Adin, but if this can reach Adin, or even some of his fans (including introducing them to this YT channel), that could make a difference for their lives. I think conversations, when had like this, can be important and life-changing. I hope he takes the time to properly digest this and comes out the other side better for it.

I think we can agree that Dr K did the best he could do in this talk to get adin to realise the root of his issues. So I think this video clearly deserves a like even if the content was rough.

What’s wild about men like Adin is that they feel like they deserve a kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and chaste woman, meanwhile they themselves don’t display those character traits. Idk why they think a woman like that would want anything to do with them.

I absolutely loved this. Having conversations with people we disagree with is paramount. Help remind people that these "toxic people" out there are just other human being just like us. We just happen to disagree with them on things. Keep doing what you and your healthygamer team are doing Dr. K!

The top comment seems to be talking about Adin pushing away, but I’d say I’m super impressed with how much he revealed and spoke honestly about his experience to the best of his ability. You can tell he is genuinely trying to give his best for this interview, and I appreciate it. Expecting him to “be more genuine” when he clearly is giving the best he can is not the type of critique that should be supported. This conversation was extremely productive, not a “failed try.”

You should definitely follow up with Adin. You were successful in planting a few seeds in his mind and he is struggling with things that a lot of people face. He is not a bad person, and another conversation with him will help him and so many others.

I really hope Dr. K has more of these conversations with Adin. I think Adin is somewhat easily influenced, but has a lot of potential. I'm not convinced that he's intrinsically a bad person. I think Dr. K could help Adin a lot. And with such a large audience, maybe Adin's progress could be a great example for many other people in his generation. I feel this was insightful despite our collective blood pressure spike. A lot of people are like adin. Many of us are exposed to people like adin on a regular basis, online or otherwise. It’s validating to get Dr. Ks reflections. It helps me wrap my head around people like him and the kind of movement they represent

As much as you may dislike Adin Ross, and as much as you might think he's an idiot, the truth is that this conversation is immensely valuable for teens his age as well as the fact that he is right about one thing: a lot of teens in his generation are like him. Using Adin as a means to have young people find themselves is incredibly valuable.

Respect for Adin for showing up to this stream. For everyone watching Dr K's video, reflecting and recongnizing patterns is normal. But here is a guy who build massive walls and generalizations to get by. It takes hard work to break them down, and im happy Dr K kept going with him.

I think Adin has a lot of defense mechanisms because there are some things he has within himself that he’s not willing to accept yet. I’m not going to say what I believe those things are, but that’s genuinely what I think about him.

Adin's mostly negative generalizations of other people, be it women, other generations, he seemed to be describing himself more than anyone else. Other generations who just "don't get it" and are unable to understand "my generation", he was the most unwilling to listen or attempt to understand. And his negative description of women who sleep around without forming emotional bonds, he literally described himself doing the exact same thing, but exclusively associated negativity of that act with "women" and not himself. 😔

This is the hardest people to deal with. Some people just say "This is like this because it is". They are not use to critial thinking. Its hard.

You know what is really interesting? Andrew Tate and Dr. K are opposite ends of the field, people are either in one corner or the other in terms of the way that Adin should think and live his life, but they both came to the same conclusion that Adin's problem is a lack of self control. They both point out to him that he is a puppet of his emotions and that that is a big problem that needs fixing.

You know that small kid in high school that hangs around the bully? That's AdinRoss... Where Streaming Platforms are the new High School and Dr K is the cool teacher who actually engages with the students. I don't have anything in particular against Adin, I'm glad Dr K is able to be open enough to engage in these types of communication nonetheless.

Never thought I would actually relate to a person like Adin Ross. I have kind of the same mentality, if someone tells me to do something, my brain would want to go the opposite direction and just not do it. Say what you will about Adin but I found this interview super helpful.

As a concurrent disorders counsellor, I am always fascinated with how Dr. K navigates challenging behaviours and belief systems. I have definitely learned a lot from this stream. Thank you as always!

To answer Dr. K’s concern at the end, I think it was very helpful to have “controversial” people on the stream. I didn’t see it as a bad experience at all. It’s helped me remember to avoid the “It is what it is” mentality

PLEASE do another follow up chat with Adin. It’s my first time seeing your channel but I really enjoyed this a lot and I’m definitely going to check out your other videos. Please don’t listen to any complainers, these conversations are a valuable opportunity to learn about people, perhaps in a more holistic manner to what is otherwise seen online. Ignorance thrives when we stop viewing each other as human beings. You do an awesome job at getting someone to tap in to and disect their thought processes/behaviors. It is very rare to see somebody able to confidently challenge another persons viewpoint without coming across as either combative or condescending (even slightly). Your approach is far more effective in achieving genuine interaction and responses. Sure Adin is not perfect but I think he’s a good kid with a genuine heart who’s just doing his best out here.

He talks about how meaningless sex is unfulfilling, but then he mentions that once he nuts, he doesn't want to have anything to do with the woman he had sex with. In my experience, talking to your sexual partner after sex, even if it's just getting to know them, can get to a point where it's more fulfilling then the sex itself. Two people getting to know each other, even if it's only for like five minutes or so, feels good. I honestly can't imagine myself at least not making the attempt to build some rapport post-coitus if the sexual encounter was, at the very least, cordial.

this was a great needed conversation. instead of jumping to conclusions and judging Adin, I think we can try to understand his perspective like Dr. K. We all have goodness inside of us. Thanks to both Dr. K and Adin for this interview. Sure it was challenging but this is where growth comes from.

I think a good question to ask Adin would be for him to define the line between what he considers and what he considers a queen. He gave examples of the extremes if each grouping but most women lie in between the two and having no defined line makes it difficult to see what his definition is and introduces a factor of interpretation of two vague groups. I think he made some very strong generalisations and I also noticed that he said he forms an emotional connection with 'queens' but I think that the reason he doesn't form emotional connections with is because of his attitude and his grouping of certain people and because he doesn't form emotional connections with them, his perceptive grouping is reinforced. Also, if the majority of women are and that people should avoid long term relationships and procreation with these people then wouldn't the birth rate decrease and the population collapse? I mean it is like saying over 50% of women should be excluded from having children. Another thing I noticed was that Adin said 'this generation is different'. I believe this was a defence mechanism to prevent Dr K from unpicking his perspective and opinions because of his differing experiences.

I think a key point required to truly appreciate this interview is to notice that right at the end of the conversation, you can see Adin is quite desperate to prolong it. My understanding is that, at his core, Adin seems very lonely and lost. He's playing the class clown act but he doesn't seem to understand what that really means. With Adin there's a very apparent yearning for real love and acceptance, but the only place he's been able to learn how to get that is from his stream chat- he has exceptionally few 'real' relationships with people, and the relationships he does have seem to be entirely transactional. Adin has said and done some pretty heinous things, but I really think that people have to remember that Adin is a 22 year old man with exceptionally little real life experience. His formative years were spent with thousands of eyes on him and thousands of voices screaming in his chat, and that's bound to do damage to a person's psyche, and is almost guaranteed to result in him saying and doing what he thinks people want to see or hear. To quote a specific point [ 2:08:04 ] Dr. K talks to Adin about the story of Buddha, and how he had everything and still wasn't happy, and I truly think this is an important thing for him to meditate on. I also think that after this part of the conversation when he asks "are you leaving me already?" you can see in real time his walls coming right back up again, because he was actually really into the conversation when he started doing it for himself and not his chat, but that time was cut short, and he'd spent so long messing around and not taking it seriously that, at that point, he'd wasted the opportunity to have his first genuine conversation in a long time. You can see in vivid detail on his face that he was so gutterally disappointed in himself for throwing this chance away in order to chase a goal that he had just learned would never bring him true happiness. Personally, I would love to see Adin back on at some point with a renewed idea of what he's getting into, and I think the last quarter or so of this conversation is incredibly important for opening the door for him.

this was fantastic. there were multiple times in this conversation where i felt like they were clashing and not communicating at all. and so i could see no option but to them to change topics or end the conversation. but each time, dr k found some way to genuinely engage with adin's words, take them at face value, and continue the discussion while bringing it back on topic. this is wonderful and so inspiring. there is no WAY I'd be able to have a productive or even respectful conversation about these topics with adin because his beliefs are so far from my own, and we'd just butt heads and argue for sure. but i feel like dr k navigated it with profound skill and respect.

This is actually my favourite Dr. K interview so far. It's probably because not only is it different, but it seems more "real," so to speak. Adin has a personality that reminds me of many people I know in my everyday life, and at the same time, he is a refreshing change of pace from the usual introvert-leaning, Internet savvy content creators that are featured. He's such an interestingly and profoundly conflicted dude, and I can't help but enjoy the fact that he doesn't take psychoanalysis at face value and even pushes back just because he feels like it. I really need a part 2. This is prime edutainment.

Dr K this was a really tough conversation but I really encourage you to continue to bring on people who create tough conversations. I don't think it would work if this was all your conversations, the stream was incredibly tense. But we (society, culture, "our generation" what have you) don't know how to have conversations like this. There are plenty of hard conversations that people need to have but no one gives them the space for. You demonstrate how to offer space while being respectful even in heavy disagreement. I think "we" need to be able to see that while we may not understand another persons viewpoint, they are equally looking at us struggling to understand our viewpoint. That doesn't make them someone worth beating down because we don't understand, and vice versa. It means we need to put in effort to understand, not always label someone an A**-hol3 because its easier to be upset with them.

i see everyone talking down on this interview but it helped me a lot because im similar to adin in a sense that i have adhd and feel emotionless often so the first half of the interview was really insightful for me

These kinds of conversations are the most important to have because of how some people hold their ideas as intrinsically part of their identity. Ideas can't be questioned if people hold them so close to their understanding of who they are and become so doggedly defensive of them. Separating ideas from a person's sense of identity is some of the most important work to be done in the world today.

I'm a mental health professinal and work with kids/teens/families. This was a juicy conversation to listen to that will definitely inform how I help others. I love how you asked for time to think and organize your thoughts.

I couldn’t put my figure on why this gave me second hand embarrassment but it’s similar to when i engage with people with NO amount of self awareness. I don’t actually know Adin and this is just a snippet of his persona but he seems to only react. I don’t sense any introspection or reflection. It’s just reaction to external factors, like an actual NPC. Kudos to Dr. K for this lesson on meeting people where they are and relentless willingness.

I actually liked the interview, I think for me it really helped empathize with someone I really couldn't before, thanks for that!

I didn't catch the full conversation in its entirety but I get the sense that he is one of those people who are actually worse off for this conversation being live streamed to the public. Even when he was seeming to acknowledge some personal issues I got the sense there was something performative about it. Like, there was a brief flash where he genuinely got emotional about being a "puppet" to his audience, but then almost instantly there's a shift where he starts playing up this genuine realisation to generate more drama in the chat. I relate to his ADHD habit of getting distracted by the live chat but his whole self image seems to derive from what chat is feeding to him. He's not an individual at that point, he's just an entity swayed at the whims of "his generation". He's the sort of person who would benefit the most from private therapy sessions, but by making that conversation public is just feeding the beast that controls him. Dude needs to become an individual and not just an amalgamation of what his chat expects him to be.

There sure is a lot of irony in people being upset over Dr.K having a conversation with Adin. If Adin is wrong, this is one of the best places to change his mind and set him on a better path and to make him a healthier influence for his viewers. Also, as awful as it may sound, his struggle and thoughts on women and dating have been a part of the norm for male spaces probably since forever. It's monogamous, love at first sight, 'till death does us apart, romcom idea of love confronted with reality of relationships being a complex, living and not always positive thing that you can't just complete like a MMORPG quest. And as you can see with Adin, dudes (or, I guess, people in general) don't want to dig through their emotions and figure out what makes a good relationship, they'd rather follow some arbitrary rules about body count, make up pills and sexual capitalism and whatever else. So I am very happy that Dr.K provides a space where these ideas about relationships can at least be addressed instead of just saying that they're awful and shunning the person. You won't beat ignorance with ignorance.

God this one is crushing. Hes such a polite guy and he has such a simple want. You can see his inner child wishing for a safe person and genuine connection and love. His whole life is transactional. In some ways its no wonder he become controversial in the ways that he did if he doesnt feel like anybody is safe or real. Its sad for the guy he could be if he could see the good in people but nobody seems to give him evidence of it and now hes cold. I used to dislike adin but now I hope he grows and learns to share himself vulnerably and learns caring. The potential is absolutely there.

As a 46 yr old woman I am really beginning to think that something very powerful is causing a disconnect across this world. It’s kinda like some people have lived a decade longer while others stood still . Sometimes even the def of words are so polar opposite … we are hearing 2 different conversations …

He hasn’t considered for one second that technology is making his life worse. He brought his phone up to shame older generations/feel superior, but it’s so telling that he thinks he’s more informed. I rolled my eyes so hard. He struggles to understand that algorithms give him one tailored view of reality. The fact that he thought his viewpoints were objective was so sad.

the best thing adin could do for himself is abandon streaming culture and abandon everything he believes about life, and start new. go to college, get jobs, experiment, make normal friends, and experience a normal life surrounded by genuine people. hes so young and he has so much to learn, but hes been backed into a small corner of the world, held there by his fans and his "friends". its limited his experiences, views, and potential. i think redemption is possible for him.

People call this a conversation, and it WAS until Adin decided to "school" Dr. K. The fact that any humanity on Adin's part was visible in this stream gives me hope for him. While I do think a part 2 would be good, it should be spaced out with a rec from HealthyGamerGG to Adin for CBT work for at least a few months before coming back. Dr. K reached his limit and I had several times, too. The audience could feel the same. Too much too soon might not get as much views.

For anyone wondering, it isn’t just adin Ross that holds these views on women/“our generation”. I have friends that I have had bar for bar the exact same conversation that took place in this video.

I truly admire You Dr K. I am new to the channel, just watched a couple of Your vids in a search for resolving my own issues. What a conclusion at the end! I always felt like im overthinking every perspective about almost anyone i engage and find myself "getting into another ppls shoes" all the time and that it was hindering me greatly in life in general. But WOW, i just realised that maybe at the end of the day i am privileged to get to think that way, always trying to see the secong, third etc. bottom of things before i judge anyone, and maybe actually should study to become a psyhiatrist. He reminds me of some people I would refer to as "fake open minded", at least with the girl thing. He talks in a way that makes him sound like he is extremely open-minded and very deep but at the same time he is unwilling to change any thoughts that he already holds. Truly open-minded people are extremely willing to be wrong and usually end up challenging their own thoughts Edit: You can tell when after arguing with Dr k over the fact that he won't change his mind he almost immediately says that he understands over time people change their perspectives. He stopped listening halfway thru cause he talked himself into a corner. There isnt a single good person around him cause the people he admires arent good people, but hes a slave to them now. The most toxic part is those people have built an iorn clad defence against the people he would really need. I really feel like hes a victim of grooming, and until he recognizes that hes not gonna change at all

This is my first time seeing your content. I watched this because it was mentioned on a podcast. And I’m kinda in a moment of amazement right now for two reasons- 1. I’ve seen this guy’s stream clips and I wasn’t expecting this kind of conversation. 2. This wasn’t even about me but the way you spoke on certain topics shed light on some things in my life that I’ve been wrestling with and in this moment I feel a million times better about them. And for that I am subscribing

I don’t like adin Ross at all but I respect him for going on Dr K. Actually I relate a lot to how he reasons himself out of his emotions, that’s how I’ve dealt with my issues the last few years

I am from Adin's generation. I absolutely don't see just two types of women and I haven't heard that narrative being talked of in my circle.

People commenting that the discussion went downhill are missing the bigger picture. For any perspective shift to happen, one must be willing to trudge through discomfort, including having uncomfortable conversations where you don't necessarily agree at face value. Dr K. did an excellent job exercising empathy throughout, even mirroring Adin's vibe and language to an extent. The challenge of it all produced some valuable insight, not just for Adin, but for myself and many viewers, I strongly believe. In order to understand ourselves better, it's going to have to be necessary to look beyond the words that people use, rather, examine where their behavior comes from by putting ourselves in their shoes.

I'm reading all these comments saying they were disappointed about the convo, but I really don't get it. I think it was great personally. Adin has difficulty being articulate and he is confused about his values, but you really can't blame him for that when you look at his background. I can't say I support what he does online though... This guy needs guidance, and not from a scammer

Schema, experience, ideology, beliefs, behavior, judgement, defense mechanisms...and what really incentivizes behavior change when it conflicts with beliefs and identity and previous experiences. As much of a whirlwind of the conversation was (again the dynamics being clarified and expanded was helpful) there is so much room and potential and growth for further self discovery here. There is a high from further self discovery and learning and expansion too.
