Today we're talking with Tambi Dudley of Schuetzen Blackpowder about how the challenges of 2020 have affected the black powder industry, and how they are rising to the occasion to support muzzleloaders and black powder enthusiasts in 2021.
This is the first in an ongoing series from the NMLRA as we take a look at the State of Muzzleloading in 2021. We're talking with industry representatives, mom and pop shops, and everyone in between to get an idea of what muzzleloading is doing in the coming year.

Check your frizen hardness. Thatd be my first check after a proper flint check. As for caps, sharpshooter 22lr has a no 11 cap maker on their website. Id link but youtube is a little picky about links. That'll cut a cap that'll fit 10 or 11. If you can find cap gun caps, you can use it for priming compound. Keep in mind, it is corrosive and your cones will require extra attention while cleaning. Ive used them with great success, theyre not gonna seal up like a professional cap so water resistance is an issue, but they'll make a boom.

If they can't make stuff or ship stuff then they can't sell stuff and you can't buy stuff.

I think these global supply chain shutdowns exemplify why manufacturing needs to be brought back to the states. Specifically red states who governors dont shut down their states over a cold with a 99.997% survival rate. Our ancestors routed the british empire off of the continent in the midst of a brutal smallpox epidemic. I think we can keep the factories open for this.
