War schon sehr geil damals - vor 30 (!) Jahren. Unser elektronisches Woodstock.
I'm in Australia and only heard the earlier aggrepo/body music styles that were played in this club before the trance..Wish I could have experienced it..
Yes, only EDM in this video. They introduce it as techno, but when they ask the clubbers about their favorite artists/Bands it is exclusively EDM-artists/bands only. Bands that mostly had been going on for years in the 80:s already. Labeling things as "Techno"-something happened a lot even during the 80:s. I bought the Moskwa-TV album named "Techno Talk" which was mostly classic Synthmusic. The Detroit double album "Techno - The sound of Detroit", despite being labeled "Techno" had a more funkier vibe to it with Rhytms more resembling House. Then we had "Technotronix" which was more or less proto-eurodance also with a house vibe. At around 1990 (or even in 89) some bands/artists started to appear that actually sounded like the techno that we got used to later in the 90:s. Often I got these from imports of CD-maxis which often were made by Talla 2XLC (Zoot Ohmog. Spelling?). These were mixed affairs of strict "Hard" EDM and more dance/techno "like" songs. The difference in the early techno-like tracks, I think, was in the way that the drum sounds were more mixed/different and not the all-out Roland TR-909 affair. Also that gated trance sounds hadn't become popular yet. Among the first there were some mixes of samples like in EDM, some techno or acid (TB-303) sounds and the occasional 909. They also borrowed a bit from Belgian New Beat but at a higher speed.
