'I hope that they will forget they have a keyboard in their hands-that they think: "There is a choir singing somewhere"' - Lodewijk van der Ree, Choirmaster and tenor
We spoke to the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir about their sound, style of singing, and the experience and passion they put into every single note.
The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC)
Tallinn features the Grammy Award-winning Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC), founded in 1981 by Tõnu Kaljuste. The choir’s repertoire ranges from Gregorian chant and Baroque music to contemporary compositions, in particular from Estonian composers.

Amazing, wonderful, blessed... Every instrument and every sound you provide is like a breath of fresh fragrant forest air, unequaled in the quality of the sound, especially this superb Tallinn collection. Unfortunately I can't afford it but my soul and heart are longing for it and I will do my best to have it one day. Boundless thanks to these wonderful singers, and to everyone from the Orchestral Tools staff who makes such wonders possible! Respectfully thank you!

The one comment that the choirmaster made in these interviews is that he wished when people would play using these patches that they "forget they are playing a keyboard". And as I listen to these patches (yes, I HAD to buy it - not because this is the kind of music I write - but it's the kind I am going to) they are so evocative of emotion and while others have called it (as has OT officianados in some test runs) - COLD - it's ethereal in my opinion, not cold, very rich, warm and almost "spiritual" if you will. It's a great library and can't wait to get much more deeply into it and learn its capabilities - which I believe are legion for a variety of uses. Brilliant work by these wonderful Estonian people and Orchestral Tools. Cheers to both for a great product that I will enjoy using.
