bruh they the best band since the beatles. they all are exceptionally talented and charismatic. too bad they didn't break through to the mainstream they really could have been legendary and have a place in an evolution of a poprock movement.
@@incription i mean is it really? When the Beatles first got their fame they weren’t all that impressive. Just a couple of kids writing silly love songs for a quick buck. When they got their fame however they suddenly had a lot of room to experiment, with a big audience waiting to hear whatever it was the boys could come up with. The result was an audience that ate up everything the Beatles put out, even though it was so weird and different, and thereby changing music forever. If tally hall would’ve written just regular pop songs and gathered a large audience in the mainstream because of it, they would be able to drop an album like mmmm or good & evil and it would be considered legendary.
I wouldn’t say the best of Tally Hall, but definitely one of the best from their album, at the end is all just personal tastes (i prefer The Ruler of everything or Spring and a Storm)
i love the concept with it, especially with the robotic voice and i really love that but it's very jarring to hear especially in the beginning. i think i prefer the remastered version but there's always the small little touches in the 2005 versions that brings you back to them...
also the vocal tracks are totally different on the 2005 mix of this song, the instrumental is mostly the same but things like ross's drums have different eq and no reverb.
Taken for a ride is probably my favorite song on MMMM, and one of my favorite tally hall songs, and while there aren't that many differences, it's still interesting to see an alternative version of one of my favorite songs from the band
Lyrics: Marvin walked into a helpless land and wondered lightly am I happy, is this happy Following the footsteps left by man he stepped to reprimand the mystic who's sadistic Took a step into the elevator who said guess I'll see you later, don't you worry Fifteen flights that lasted nights and days that spent without a cent for creatures with their beat shirts Listening to painted whispered light on top forgotten hill Next the stranded senate of the white brick house with flowers asked some questions for their story All feeling now he took his bow and left the stage of time with no answers to no questions Lonely paperbacks that wanted just a taste of feeling to implode them before living Tiptoed to that wooden sign that said now take your place in line for happy, this is lovely Listening to painted whispered light on top forgotten hill One secondary smile To go that extra mile To make me feel today To make it go away The chemistry is gone Taken for a ride Far away from you No longer left inside The actor with his world renowned was thinking ‘bout his last real day of silence, was it over Or is it just we all think that our answer isn't real it's just a picture of a letter Bumble mumble make the rounds no matter what you'll seem profound it's useless just to worry Something normal happens somewhere far away in clouds so please stop thinking this is happy Listening to painted whispered light on top forgotten hill One secondary smile To go that extra mile To make me feel today To make it go away The chemistry is gone Taken for a ride Far away from you No longer left inside One secondary smile To go that extra mile To make me feel today To make it go away The chemistry is gone Taken for a ride Far away from you No longer left inside There're no secrets in the door Just a moment doing chores And there's something And there's something And there's something And there's something next to nothing And there's something And there's something But you're gone
Listening to this with one earbud in is an experience that sounds like how pizza without sauce tastes like. Also is it me or does the "Secondary Smile" part here fit alot better?
For me that difference ALONE greatly improves the song, nice & groovy tbh. Still not a great fan of the outro, but everything (even the outro) is a little better in this version, especially that final chorus.
id ont remember andrew's vocals sounding this off what the scallop like i knew they were weird and were DEFINITELY an acquired taste but was it that off??? 😭
while i will say some parts are good, this version’s andrew absolutely murdered my ears and the drums are mixed a bit weird. They also butchered the sax solo >:(
