TALON Protector 60 and Beast 

i love talon so much. i got a legend and now im recommending all their stuff to my team and our goalie got a keeper and a d-man is getting the beast :)

these shafts are amazing i cant wait to get my keeper

my friend just got the talon beast today... its a little on the heavy side when you first pic it up but when you play with it it actually feels decent

burkey393, The Protector (60) should not bend on even the most solid of poke checks - it's flexible, but not THAT flexible. The bending will take place at the head of the stick, depending on how rigid the particular head is. As seen in the video, there will be some bending on slap checks, and to a lesser degree on long passes (i.e. a little bit of whip). Thanks for the comment/question!

i looked it uip, its actually a Mohawk Mission, and it looks nothing like a Revo or Voyce.

pretty sick shafts.... i think though that it would suck to through with and take it up the field with because its so heavy. otherwise its pretty sick. i really dont like how it bends it would probably do that when you through otherwise its sick and they way they hold the shafts at the end it increases the chance of it breaking and they sit there and swing as hard as they can not really gonna happen in a game unless your playing someone that doesnt know what they are doing...

ducksdeluxe, I wish you guys would show a video of the damage incurred to the Talon during those tests. I have read reviews about the shaft being dent resistant - even after the most crippling of stick checks. However, I would love to see the close-up of the woodies after those impacts! And, I'm sure others have the same concern. If you're sticks hold up, I'll buy the Thunder on the spot!

Sweet demo. I like how the pounding got so hardcore the camera started to shake with each hit. The talon attack shafts ran about the regular cost for a premium shaft. I figure they'd hit a price point that is normal for a top-of-the-line D-shaft for the Beast and Protector 60 as well.

my bro is looking into a talon because he has already bent two warrior titan pro classics and he dosent want another titanium or any other stick like that and the only thing that he is worried about is if it has a lot of flex. Do these have a ton of flex or just a little becuase he wants a little flex

Sorry but smacking a shaft almost proves nothing. Any shaft can break another one if it being winded up, I heard talon was good so is there any video of them going head on with a stick? That might prove to be more effective and evidence of whether i should get this shaft or not.

that damn thing just bends when you poke check someone on a fast break, the force of another person running into it while you poke forward with it just makes it bend like a rainbow... get a titan and play some real defense with a poke check and none of this lumberjack bullshit

i just got the protector 60, a yard sale, 5 strips, and 1 injured player, i threw a really hard check into his arm around the crease he dropped his stick. Although its kind of heavy its worth every extra ounce over my wonderboy

I have never seen one on a college field or in the pro's. Reaon being it's there are shafts made with titanium and alloy metals-it's known as progress. This is for guys stuck in 1980.

I think you should calm down and do more research than dish out $200 for this shaft. Don't get me wrong, I want one too, but I am saving it for my senior year and treat myself to one.

how heavy is the beast? because im wondering wether to buy it, but im not sure wether it will just be to heavy and effect my game... please help

i got my talon a year ago. took me along time to snap it, but when i did, it was on another guys chest. needless to say, he broke his collar bone.

I've seen this in action - you definitely don't want to get checked with one of these. These put punishment back in the game - it's about time

the protector 60 is not lighter than the howitzer (the protector weighs 511g) and it costs the same. I do believe that it is strong though

i have the thunder, broke someones radius with it. if you wanna do damage, talons are the way to go

I highly doubt it. It is shaped to perfectly to tightly fit the exact shape of the talon shafts

when it comes tell me how much heavier it is compared to an alloy shaft, if its a d-pole

@MarleyFan1996 im attack and small and man you dont really no how scary it is faceing up to a guy 40lbs heavyer then you and he can just chew you up and all you have to rely on is you face doges rolls etc... (: and yes a heavy shaft and a strong d-man and it is scary. i got one of my STX katanas bent bad from a guy with a heavy shaft but STX is nice nd sent me another to sum it up:scary being chewed up lol

jmblur, We appreciate the feedback, and definitely plan on doing the things you've suggested and much more for our next video. This video was definitely NOT made to be a marketing/publicity stunt - it was just an initial effort at recording our "at the time" brand new long poles in action. It really depends on your physical size/strength and how you play defense - typically, bigger close D-men who like to "lay the lumber" prefer the Beast. Most other D guys, including long stick midfielders prefer the lighter weight of the Protector.

The head on the Talon is a Mohawk Thunder, I believe.

It's not just wood. There's fiberglass and I think carbon fiber in those sticks, it's just a wooden top layer. That's why they flex so much without cracking. I really want one of these, but $200 is a bit much for me....

No. The Spirit is designed for youth lacrosse players (6th grade and younger) - it is lighter in weight and less durable than the Legend shaft.

Talon makes different attack-length shafts, too (the guys getting beat on in the video are using Talon Legend shafts).

ok we all know that they are strong (obviously) but the wieght on these is very poor

Show the same vid with a metal d pole hitting a talon stick held against the ground like that. Putting in that position makes it much more likely to bend as it's "fixed" at two ends. Otherwise it's just a marketing/publicity stunt.
