Talon to Wingspan! 

For some reason through all of this the line "You fly for weeks" is what hits me the hardest. It brings up the image of Cerrit flying over endless nothing but ash and ruin sometimes having to force himself to keep beating his wings, refusing to give into exhaustion and pain, all because he's got a promise to keep.

One thing that I think is masterful storytelling is when “Cleareye” (Cerrit’s wife) calls Cerrit for the last time, Cerrit incorrectly interprets the call as coming from his daughter, likely because he forgot which code name was which. Instead of correcting him, Brennan takes a few moments and says that the son then takes the stone, and talks with it. He could have corrected Travis, which Brennan knew would likely diffuse the tension somewhat, and bring everyone out of the story, but he simply shuffled the deck a little and continued playing. Brennan is an absolute wizard.

If his kids only saw his ring glowing now, that implies that Cerrit never lied to his children before.

13:20 Travis creating Cerrit: “Hey, I’d like him to have a ring that detects lies! I think that’d be awesome!” Brennan, already planning this scene: “No the f*** it won’t and I’ll prove it.”

I desperately want it to be canon, that Cerrit or possibly Maya founded the Cobalt Soul. With the eye symbolism and Patias Orb, it would make perfect sense and an awesome conclusion to this already amazing storyline. Thanks for the supercut.

"you solve the mystery of who your children were" actually just speared me through my chest

It makes perfect story sense for Cerrit to be the only survivor too, because the whole point is that their mastery of magic caused the people of the Age of Arcanum to become arrogant, and their hubris doomed them. But Cerrit has no magical ability and thus is uncorrupted by it, and so is able to escape the doom. I love it.

Cerrit being based off a Philippine Eagle and one of his kids being named Maya (a bird native to the Philippines (we have a LOT of them here)) makes me feel a sense of pride.

I dunno about anyone else but watching this I definitely felt like I was watching Travis the father, rather than Travis the voice actor.

Lou face in the beginning, enjoying but *knowing* that Brennan would use the kids to absolutely destroy Cerrit

I think we can all agree that Travis is never again allowed to RP as a dad. I would prefer not to bawl my eyes out like that again.

What I love about this is Brennan usually does kind of silly campaigns (which are awesome) and has to work in drama between the cracks This one he’s just allowed to go full-blown dramatic heartbreak and work in comedy between the cracks and it’s cool to see him just revel in it

I feel like Travis misheard Brennan when he said "Talon to Wingspan" as "Talon Two" and from then on Kir became "Talon Two".

“Kier Listen to me!” Such a simple sentence but fuck me is Travis an incredible actor. So much weight in one simple sentence.

"Dad did I do something wrong" My heart 😭

I saw comment that said had Laura been at the table, this would have been double/triple emotional damage.

Travis’s furious “why couldn’t you just say YES” is SO good, gives me the shivers.

I pictured Kier like chicken little, huge round glasses, the most cutest nerd in the skies 😚

This was one of the best running plot points of this masterpiece of a miniseries. Also, everyone at the table’s reaction upon hearing Cerrit call his son the second time was priceless. They went from a highly intense world changing scene to this heartbreaker and were like “You monster! How could you do this?!”

You can see how close Brennan is to sobbing with the other players after Cerrit crushes the stones at 15:26. It hits home to what makes him cry the most which is people putting on a brave face when faced with adversary 😭😭

The way Brennan says "dad" at 14:50 had me crying on the floor. You can just hear the heartbreak of little Kir :(

FINALLY. Ive been wanting to share this with a friend but only the cerrit parts that cause emotional damage. THANK YOU.

I do honestly believe that Exandria Unlimited: Calamity is objectively the best thing that DnD has ever seen. I love C1, 2 and 3 so far, I love both other ExU's, but this was goddamn perfect.

How Travis kept from breaking down I'll never know.

Amazon should do "Exandria, the Family" next. Screw the Calamity. I need this family story fully-featured.

The best part of this campaign is Travis just being in awe of brennan.

Spoiler Alert Below! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! IT'S YOUR FAULT IF YOU READ IT. Aside from Cerrit being blameless for the Calamity (in my opinion), I wanted him to survive so he could be with his kids. I'm glad he did.

you know what would have sucked, Brennan getting laura in on this so when its "talon to cleareye" it would be travis' wife to pluck everyone's heart strings even more......WHY DID I THINK OF THIS?!?!?!

This is special. For even only.being a 2 part mini series, he got the emotional hooks into the characters.

31:30 Relief. Relief because they have accepted this line segment of their life. Not a bad wizard. Bad wizards never accept their fate.

I want EXU: Post-Calamity. With Laura playing Rein, Brennan playing Adult Kier, Ashley playing Adult Maya, Liam and Tal playing new characters and a guest star or two. (Or Cerrit and Rein could be dead, and Laura and Liam can play siblings again)

Travis has the most Heartbreaking and Heart-warming story part in this whole Game 😭❤️

This needs to be the movie that Amazon makes with the new Film Rights they signed with CR. These players playing their characters and at least let Brennan tell the Prologue and Epilogue as he did with this campaign.

I once did a one-shot that was, within my group, the canon finding of the the first Luxon beacon and the birth of the Krynn Dynasty as we know it. And that was based after the Calamity had ended...this blows all of that out of the water. Thank you Brennan and the rest of the EXU crew for a gorgeous story.

As a father myself, these moments (and Xerxes with his son) were absolutely brutal. This is unbelievable collaborative storytelling. I was tearing up while I was at work renovating an apartment 🥹

I remember watching this the first time, and the rest of the party is fully in the middle of a high tension combat, and then Brennan changes over to Cerrit and I went "Nooo, how could he possibly be relevant right now?!" and now his are my favorite sequences, the ones I return to watch over and over.

They seem to switch up Maya's and Rein's codenames. Initially Talon2 calls Maya Egghead, then at 24:00 it seems like Maya calls Cerrit and gets called Clear Eyes. I did the same when commenting on other videos. But yeah Im not crying, you're crying.

That's not how sending stones work, but who cares?
