Wow, these drums just sound so amazing and Nick, you really are the king when it comes to demonstrating different drums in a good way - thanks a lot! 👍🙏
Ive got the earlier 2015 model. Ive got 6 other kits Ludwig slingerland pearl rogers These are my favorite and the kick is the best best kick ive ever heard
I've been a drummer for 40 years and have owned over 15 kits. My clear acrylic Pearl set was my favorite sounding and looking kit.❤ I always covered the kit with a sheet when not playing to keep them clean and shiny, the dust makes clear drums look dirty fast.
Tama usually releases new kits, gear, and finishes around the start of the new year. I almost did the same, but decided to wait it out and now I've got these drums on the way! Just something to keep in mind if you are ever in the market for a new kit again.
To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in this Limited Starclassic Mirage. I really expected more since it was TAMA's 50th anniversary. This kit is identical to the Silverstar Mirage launched in 2015, the only thing they changed was the suspension system and the Die-Cast Hoops. Even the drum sizes are the same. Personally, I see the Starclassic Mirage released in 2007 a better drum set, it has all the hardware features of a genuine Starclassic
@@alvarolarino7335well I guess somebody took the calculator, punched some numbers in and said this is how we are going to do it. Its mass industry still
Great drums but TAMA installed all these cheap Silverstar bass drum spurs on these Starclassic series, for a price tag like these higher end drums they should really bring back the thick Starclassic spurs!
The best thing about these drums is the mounting system. This retro system proves that suspension mounts and all the over hyped and over priced mounting systems drums companies invent are simply marketing techniques. Yes I love my 2021 star cast tom mounts and quick-release memory locks but imo drum sounded better in the 80's with shallow bass drums, aged wood, metal on wood tom mounts, plain old triple flanged hoops, and drums heads with less plastic. I'm leaning towards picking up the acrylic version but might get the birch and acrylic. I appreciate Tama so much, I believe they make the all around best hardware and most affordable high quality drums.
Is he in an official office with Tama? I've been playing Tama since the 70s and other than great looks, not really different in sound than Imperial, rock star, but with less resonance.
