Austrian TAMA Artist David Diepold rips through this playthrough on our STAR Walnut drums in Indigo Japanese Sen Burst finish! #TAMA #TAMADrums #StrongestNameinDrums
@@neilmaccanbell9813 Well yes but only because they manufactured on a larger scale before Tama did. So their endorsements were more attractive and they definitely used social media earlier on. Ive always been Tama until they went to China. Im not paying MIJ prices for MIC lol at least Pearl went to Taiwan and still makes kits in the US. But Tama is definitely a renowned prog/metal brand. It just sucks you can only get MIJ drums if you shell out for a Star kit or find a exported MIJ starclassic maple.
Well, TAMA will definitely want their money’s worth from David, exposure wise, after supplying him with that drool worthy 9 piece kit. Mind you, the most costly components in his setup would have to be his plethora of extremely exxy Murat Diril cymbals. Edit : They can set you back in excess of $1000 a piece!
It's always great to see my favourite drum company showcase one of my favourite drummers. The accuracy and agility of David is a sight (and sound) to behold. Truly a monster in his field.
This is just next level playing! How the hell are these young guys this good and how is it humanly possible to play like this?. Maybe I should have sold my soul to the Satan.🤔
When I was a kid and I started playing over fifteen years ago, dream theater was the technical goal to achieve for me. Now I look at these guys and the music they play nowadays and it feels like learning a dream theater song is equivalent to learning an ACDC or a kiss song seemed to be back then.
@@king-manu2758 Exactly... it's truly remarkable what the human body can achieve. If we played like this when we were young we would have been famous for sure, now it seems to just be the norm.
@@SmallSoldier He's famous today because he plays like this :D it's completely uncommon in 2022 to have this level. The thing is, with internet and plateforms like youtube, we have access to the best musicians and we watch them rather than the vast majority of "regular" musicians. We are becoming used to see perfection like this by the few 1% and tend to forget the 99% that are really good but not that good. It's still amazing and incredibly hard to manage to play Dream Theatre in 2022 !! we just forget it because we only watch the bestest :D But it's also true that there is this thing of learning in the tracks of our elders and what was new and difficult for them becomes easier with time because they had time to debunk and decompose the technics and transmit them in a more understandable way to the younger generations. Sorry for this long and not really structured answer... My 2cts.
@@king-manu2758 Except no drummer can play Learning To Live as the album version XD Technical speed is different than what technical ability DT requires.
At 1:35 that use of up note ska/Copland like style (on the stack) in concert with his straight forward footwork is by far in my opinion the best show of his chops and ability to make the ordinary, extraordinary.
You Tube’s notifications have let me down. I have this dude on the highest defcon alert possible... yet, nothing. Mesmerising playthrough with the surgical precision of a neurosurgeon. I wouldn’t even listen to OBSCURA if David wasn’t the drummer. Musically brilliant, but just not what arouses me. Edit : Loved Sebastian’s work with them also.
I forced myself to learn it for my playing after obsessing on french grip for a long time. Can confirm. Can play faster for longer and it just opens up other avenues in your playing with time
Deffo check out Wanja Groger, he uses push pull aswell, also does an extremely strange foot technique, using heel toe but playing singles instead of doubles
This is what practice, dedication and talent looks like! Easily one of the smoothest drummers in this genre! One day I'll be making drum videos again once my my studio is built and get all my software that was stolen in my lat studio! Can't wait to get my Acd pedals most definitely the best pedals I've ever used in the 35 years I've been playing drums!
His ability to go in and out of the push/pull technique with his left hand while maintaining that level of accuracy and power is completely nuts. Never seen anything like it.
And this... is extreme metal drumming. The majority of the people who are subscribed to this channel won't appreciate the skills of David. Simply because they are not be used to "such amount of noise".
Fuckin Heil brother! I've been an absolute fan for years and despite having come to terms that I'd never witness your brutality live, LO AND BEHOLD you and Obscura are coming to San Diego in about a week's time. I can't fucking wait and stoked is nothing short of an understatement!
The 32nd notes at that tempo alone at the 4:00 mark were simply impressive to say the very least.. Then the winding down to 16th note triplets and finally 16th notes and out was a real nice touch.. Seemed very natural.. Stellar performance..
Amazing Drumming as Always but and the rest bands musicians are incredible with fantastic musical ideas!!Of course is Extreme Metal but at his bests!!!
My heart breaks that I did not have a chance to see you live last fall. Any chance for A Valediction tour in Europe this fall? (If so, please don't skip Hungary!!!)
Isn't it great that both death metal and black metal drummers have really pushed the envelope with fast but comfortable hand and foot techniques! Thanks to METAL!
