Chris, this is an excellent Club Jam video, and thanks for including the pack-up with the Club Jam cases. Nobody else has done that. I'm a 64 year old who started playin drums at age 9. In my youth hauling around a 10 piece Slingerland drum set was no biggie, but not anymore. Last year I sold my 7 piece Ludwig set and replaced it with a Club Jam kit like yours, and I couldn't be happier.

thanks for watching and for the comment. For me it won't replace my Starclassic, but you cannot beat the ease of use of this little kit!

I have the same kit and totally agree with most you’ve mentioned. I also have a Tama Starclassic Bubinga kit which is in a different league. That kit comes out for gigs or when I player heavier music. The Club Jam is so easy to cart around tho and with decent heads on sounds great.

Cool, thanks for watching. I’ll get around to reviewing my Starclassic soon. TBH I don’t much use the Club Jam these days - the Starclassic kick is 20/14 deep so almost as compact as the Club Jam

Thanks for this helpful review , it also helped seeing you stand next to the kit to see it’s actual size before I buy it online. I live in a one bedroom flat and cramped for room but I’m used to a good sounding kit.

If you do want something light and portable go for Club Jam Pancake. You get the most portable option ever. With a bit of play around the tuning and changing the heads, you can get this thing sound really good

I am planning on getting me a micro drumkit Tama is on my list and so is the Ludwig "Questlove" also. Hopefully when my money I might grab 1 of those micro drumkit. What I like about them they're easy to transport it on a public transportation so I think I'll have my ways to transport it. Thanks my friend. 💜👍👍🥁

I got one of these as my first acoustic kit. I found one second hand with all the hardware I needed to get started. I play in a folk band with acoustic instruments, so I don't want it too loud and portability matters. I do need to look at upgrading the heads and get the bags. Thanks for your views.

Wow just what I was looking for, not a lot of reviews of this kit and this one is really thorough! I'm seriously considering getting these drums, I'm a complete beginner, just started taking lessons. Would you recommend these as a first kit? My concern is I wouldn't be acquainted with the usual setup, a second tom and overall size of it. The size of it definitely a plus.

I would say that the actual size in terms of the playing experience is very similar to larger kits. As you say, there is only one rack tom, but actually that is a pretty common set up these days anyway. Thanks for watching.

The Sonor kits that are similar in size to these are quite a bit better in my humble opinion.

I had a Sonor Bop kit a while back and it was great. The defining feature of the Tama is the fact that it all goes in 3 cases. Thanks for watching!

I noticed you changed the heads, I think white coated skins would better suit cheap Tom’s than new clear skins I’m guessing. Did you notice a big difference when you changed skins or just a little?

Quite a big difference to be honest, but the stock heads are fine really

These would be better with a small Roland module (I can't remember the model number!) I would beef up the floor tom and bass drum.
