I love her take on this song. She made the song sound intimate, emotional and personal. The way I think the song SHOULD have been interpreted. Made me "feel" the lyrics. Would love to hear her record it like this in a professional studio setting.

She definitely could especially when it comes to diction, there's always room for improvement but it's needless to say that when her voice is in a healthy condition that she is definitely one of the most capable singers out here right now. The "studio singer" comment still makes no sense because once again that when her voice is in a healthy condition she is very capable.
When Rihanna can use the fioratura and/or has an amazing mix then we can start making comments like this. The reason Tamar sounds a hot mess in these performances is because of vocal deterioration (stress and caffeinated drinks) that she suffered and because of two broken blood vessels on her vocal chords which she's since recovered from not too long after this performance.
