@@Dupri227 I'm curious, what were people saying? I remember hearing her on the radio thinking it was a new Toni Braxton single before I knew Toni had sisters! If You Can Believe. This was during the time I was in high school 2000-2003 and seeing her on BET Midnight Love video "If You Don't Wanna Love Me" still wondering who this person was and still getting it wrong thinking Tamar was Toni's only sister. It wasn't until Braxton Family Values did I realize there were more. Sad to say! I Love Toni Braxton but unless I knew inside information, kept up with the family somehow, and had the inside scoop I would've known who Tamar was. The Internet provides it All Now.
I cannot explain my sudden love for Tamar man........ Crazy enough, it started with The Real (and yes, I know, I am a NEW fan of hers, so to speak). First, I saw her perform 'King' on the show.......... I was like omg, why have I been sleeping on this girl, WHY, and ran to listen to every song......... That was an entire month ago and ALL I've listened to since then, the ONLY person I have listened to on repeat constantly is Tamar. Love & War, & Calling All Lovers have just spoken to me in so many damn ways man, and all these old tracks resonate so bad... this is the R&B I love and always will. I hope Tamar continues to make beautifully amazingly music... She's like my spirit animal, I could be having a bad day, think of Tamar and CHILDDDDDD; I'm alive hahahaha. +apollosevin It doesn't matter if you are new to her or not, or rediscovering her. Absorbing the music and the voice is all that matters. But I TOTALLY know about the effect an artist like her can have on the senses. "Raise the Bar" from Calling All Lovers is on repeat in my head even when it's not playing aloud. One wonders why she "blew up" now instead of years ago. Does it really matter? More and more people will collect all of her work now, I bet.
Yeah I bought it off Amazon a couple days ago! I wish she released 'No Disrespect' back then, I'm just glad she's slaying now though. Nobody gave her the time of day before.

Tamar would have been big long ago if Toni wasn't in the picture, because toni was older n tamar too young by the time she was grown for this another braxton was in the picture n people looked down on her. Sadly people will always link her to Toni not that it is a bad thing mind you coz Toni is dope but Tamar is equally dope but will somehow be in Toni's shadow but i pray she get bigger n bigger
STOP COMPARING THEM! God gave each one of these sisters a talent (or talents) just like he gave them each their own lives. Toni is superbad and she has the money, awards, accolades to prove it! She got her receipts. Tamar's star is rising and it's her time to shine bright (not brighter than her sisters, per se) but just she's getting more light. All of them have true grit and talent & Mrs. Evelyn raised them to support 1 another and thrive as a unit & that's what u see them doing. Period - BAM!
Yes tamar started in like 1988 with her 5 sisters the toni got signed alone then traci was pregnant so then it was 3 of them tamar trina and towand and the had an album "so many way" then tamar started this 2000 album and the after braxton family values she started to really get noticed
joohsay it wasn’t her attitude they tried to get her to sound a lot like toni and not write her own songs so her album didn’t do good she needed a better team
With the publicity of The Braxtons Show It would be nice if they re-released this album; it was a wonderful album and a lot of people had no knowledge of Tamar's beautiful voice. I love it. 50 thumbs up for expressing how my heart feels right now as well.

Wow, I have this cd with her single "Get None" and this song on it...I was like 12, wow. I still can't believe this is her. I see the show now and I'm like, why in the world did she do anything to her face, she was already pretty. She does have a great voice :-)

This is the first time I have heard Tamar Braxton sing, sounds very much like her sister Toni. What a beautiful voice, just as beautiful as her sister's......

I've heard Toni say many times that Tamar has the best voice in the family. I think because Toni is that much older than Tamar, when Toni's career shot off Tamar was too young.Toni was well established and all eye's were on Toni coz she had the full package of a very unique voice and a very sexy image. It was just bad timing. About showing off, Toni's been doing her same style before Tamar started, if anyone is showing off I thinks its Tamar i.e her husbands status.
