In the context of the conversation he wasn’t wrong. Though I wouldn’t have worded it like that, I would have acknowledged that race isn’t the only advantage Kardashians had over Tamar. Tamar was acting as though race was the only reason why the Kardashians made more and let’s be honest that’s delusional.

I said the same thing Headcrack said on Carlos's page. The variables are not the same. Kim K comes from a wealthy family who had ties in Hollywood well before KUWK. She was even featured on a documentary on wealthy families when she was a teenager. Yes, race plays a big part in opportunities but so does access + resources + connections. Kim had resources, a momager who is a beast, a bestie who was the biggest reality TV Star of the 90's (Paris Hilton), a whole family who supported everything she did. Talent only gets you so far in this business. Nene is super talented. Tamar is really talented. But Kim K had the looks, resources, relationships/marriages, business savvy, personal/professional network going for her. Gary is right too. The delusion is real.

First of all the “niche” of the Kardashians was never about who’s prettier it was about culturally appropriated, plastic surgery made n designed white Womens who sleep with black men predominantly! Braxton show had Toni Braxton who is a Grand star and Housewives of Atlanta as a group had never been anything like it on tv and yes I could see Nene’s position on this question. But see they act like this is about reality TV this is been going on in television history since black people are allowed to have their own shows. We always had the things that the white people emulated and we got less for it. They always came to our stuff looking for stuff we rarely ever went to theirs. How often did you see a white band on a black show versus the other way around. Let's not forget to mention how friends is a copy off of living single and friends got more money in airplane than living single but living single was the better show. Or the fact that all that started off as a mostly Urban show with black kids and stuff and then all of a sudden it morphed into the white people's show once it became popping. I understand where Nene is coming from, I do, however the one thing everybody is missing is that Kim K was YOUNG, Nene was 40 yrs old when she started on Housewives . When you are young you have the ability to influence the youth in the country and that’s the buying market! Nene’s ability to attrack, draw, age group , relatability was more well groomed, older, and matured. So as a business you invest MORE into your most profitable, while also investing into your other! ITS A BUSINESS PEOPLE! At the time BFV came out Toni Braxton being the “hottest thing out” success peak had already come and gone, she was becoming legendary status which means her appeal/audience was also more established type of people. Certainly BFV had an audience, a stable, diehard audience! But they did not have the audience/influence/profitability of a Kim K. ITS BUSINESS FOLKS!

Although I agree and understand what the ladies are saying, Gary is right. There are only 12% blacks in America, and all of them don't watch reality tv, so where are they going to get the audience to get all these opportunities. If the numbers aren't there, the opportunities won't be. Blacks will watch white shows but it doesn't really work like that the other way around. So, while Nene and the Braxtons deserved a bigger platform, it wasn't financially feasible.
