Several years back I owned a nightclub where I also did most of the DJing. On Sunday nights: I’d play 100% requests (and this worked well since a lot of cool people with good taste came there). People from the major Ballet in my city, as well as a lot of the people who worked at other clubs, would come Sunday night since all the “civilians” were at home in bed, gearing up for Monday Morning. One of my regulars, a shy and sweet “sadboy” in his mid-20s, had taken to bringing this beautiful “scene” girl, of about the same age, with him. It was clear to me from watching them interact that he was romantically interested in her but she saw him as a platonic friend only. (You learn quite a lot about human behaviour from the vantage point of a DJ booth.) One night, she requested this song by name, and I had never heard of it. But I pulled it down, and once it had played I immediately followed it with “Heaven or Las Vegas” by Cocteau Twins once I realized how compatible the songs were. This made her squeal with delight. This was the last time I saw her though, as I think my regular expressed his feelings for her later that night, and she delivered to him the “bad news” that was already clear to everyone but him. I absolutely loved the song, but after that night I could never remember the name of the song or any of the lyrics, other than that there was a type of bird in the name, and that the word “kiss” was in the song lyrics. A few months ago I was in a fashionable coffeeshop and it played. I caught enough of the lyrics that I was able to Google “neo shoegaze dream pop i’m charmed to kiss you”, and it came right up. As others have said, this song is an extremely rare and special gem.

This song is exactly why spending a little more on good headphones is totally worth it.

No way this came out in 2015. It sounds like it could've been released anytime from '88-'93. Even the music video looks like it came from that time period.

Well there you have ladies and gentlemen, yet another song that is still fresh after years of play time, and teleports you out of your current worries for a few moments. You wonder why half the people you know can't get behind this type of music, but at the same time don't bother to care because you are simply a more advanced human being just off of the music you like and understand. There I said it, you all are amazing and bye.

I can tell by the views that this song is underrated, still I like having such a heavenly song no one knows

I'm a musician, and of all the music I've listened to, I genuinely think this may be the best track of them all. Of course that's an opinion based on preferences and whatnot, but its subtlety and intensity are beautiful. It's a lesson in desire and beauty, not the cheap kind, but the one we all pursue. To achieve this level of conveyance musically is a real achievement. I couldn't actually give this enough compliments.

I love everything about them! I just saw them open for Lush in Vancouver. I never heard of them before the concert. They blew me away! Not one bad song played, all in all the entire concert by them and Lush was absolutely brilliant! They really need to release a live album that captures their sound properly. I am buying everything they have put out to date. My new favorite group for sure!

An absolute monster of a song. Her third album was already highly anticipated before it dropped, but nobody could have predicted it would be this good. Every track is a banger and the album stands up there with shoegaze classics like Loveless, Souvlaki and Spooky. Which makes it all the more baffling that she practically abandoned this sound on her underwhelming fourth album : (
