Tambo, the forbidden island 

During nearly eight decades, Illa de Tambo was a forbidden island for the vast majority of people.
For almost eight decades, generations lived on both shores of the ria seeing this island daily without being able to visit it.
During all that time, Tambo was a restricted military zone, and no one, except for the personnel of the Naval Military School of Marín, could access it, as it housed the school's ammunition depot.
After the explosives were removed in 2002, the island remained alone, but visits were still prohibited.
