Inspiring to say the least. I'm finding it quite difficult to not stop all other projects I've got going and purchase beginning supplies! I watched the tutorial for adding beads just before this one and was amazed. Between Caroline and Sarah I don't need to watch anybody else. You cover it all. Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank-you for this video. I love tambour work. Never tried it with a proper needle as I use a fine crochet hook.

I do a lot of quilting and my quilts are usually thick and fluffy. I want to try tambour chain stitching in place of standard quilting. I am very new to tambour so don"t have the lingo down. I need the longest needle/hook I can get my hands on in order to get through the layers of my quilt (sewn in 100% cotton). What size needle/hook am I looking for and where can I find it? Thanks for the assist and LOVE your embroidery!! Your white on white is my fav so far!!.....patty

The needle lengths don't really differ Patty, if it's too long it will bend. I'm not sure tambour will work through all the layers without the hook getting caught on all the filling. could you consider a normal chain stitch instead? It looks the same on the top and would be easier to sttich

Im a little confused. So when you do beads you work them from the bottom but if you are wanting to do decorative stitches you turn it over and work from the side thag was originally the bottom? Am i correct on this?😊

Hi! Thanks for the great video😊 I am learning to tambour and I was wondering if there are needles smaller than 0.7mm as I am using some tiny sequins and even that one doesn't fit through?

I am wanting to get back to crewel work(with wool) but I am (believe it or not) having a really hard time finding the wool floss to do it. Do you have any sources for crewel wool floss that you could recommend?

I'm guessing because you are calling it floss you are in the States Julie? Appletons crewel wool (UK) is the wool traditionally used in Crewelwork and you can see a list of overseas stockists on their website here: www.appletons.org.uk/stockists/overseas-stockists/. We have Lana thread which is a wool/polyester blend which is thinner than the Appletons but is a consistent thickness and doesn't break like crewel wool can.

can you recommend a good tambour book to learn from? i would love to make it to a workshop of yours but i live so far away....your videos are invaluable but feel i need a book to help me a long as well? advice greatly appreciated x

I've been asked that before and to be honest Vix b, good books on Tambour are few and far between. Can I ask where you are? It's possible Caroline might be able to do a video class with you!

Sarah Homfray Embroidery I live in Dorset but have followed Caroline’s page in case I can make a class workshop one day. Definitely agree with you re tambour books! If Caroline ever made one i would pre order immediately :-)

I wonder where the camera is positioned for the left video cz I don't see any camera positioning in front of her to show the stitching in the right video
