Beautiful Paul !!! Congrats on being a DAD!!! Must be about 7 months old buy now. As a father of 3, I can remember what very adorable age. Mine are all grown now, and as I have just retired, I am truly excited to be getting back into this hobby I love so much, scale modeling. I love to do aircraft of course as i am a commercially/instrument rated pilot, but I also love Spacecraft both real and Sci-fi. And Submarines and warships. I can't wait to get started. Tooling up now ; )
Just getting into this hobby. I would like to say that I've watched quite a bit of your videos and all are nothing short of being great. Congrats on your new son and good luck with your future endeavors.
thanks paul for another great build from start to finish. the info you give through out your builds is priceless to me anyway. it was you that got me back into building again i have started building my products back up through e.models again and also the ultimate sanding sticks and all other products that i need. iam going to start to build a work station on one side of my double garage just for modelling. iam lucky i dont have to answer to anyone on my spending because i live alone. this build paul is it a level 5 build ? before i go congrats on being a dad hope he takes after you on building models. bye happy modelling.
Stephen Mckinlay I have a very similar experience. Got a model as a gift, wound up here, and he has me hooked, lol. Join the ISM forum Stephen, and the facebook page if you have FB.
What a fabulous model, an awesome effort - have thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos. Wrapped you stuck with it. Love to you, your fambley and congratulations on the birth of your son. Top effort mate all round!!
Very cool build. I just bought the newer version of this kit and holding till August 1st to start building. It’s a group build and I’m supposed to be done by December 1st. You said yours took a year to build so I’m a bit nervous cause I have work and stuff to do. Haha😅😂. But cheers! Hope your other channels and life are doing well
Hello Paul, That Corsair to be frank is just one stunning piece of work mate. I just wish I could afford one and have the time to make it. I hope you and your family are well too. Best Wishes Ste
It's a very beautiful model, you're very expert. I advise you to mount the version f4u-1a, it's better and more beautiful. The "Birdcage" wasn't very appreciated by pilots, because it had a bad visibility. With the second version, 1a, the "Corsair" was more appreciated. And also, could you put subtitles in foreign languages? Because you speak with a very strong american accent, it's not very easy to understand for me, because it isn't my mother language... However, thanks very much for your videos!
When you say a year, is that because it's one of many projects on the go? I'm a slow builder and like to scratch build extras, but my models are taking about 5 months. Makes me think I could do a lot more to mine.
Congrats on the birth of your son! Great work and perseverance on the model too, it's been a long time coming. Did you do a final clear coat after the UMP wash?
+Paul @ ISM Fantastic build Paul! I also watched your F-15 build, plus a video on a Russian truck... I think the stubbornness with which you seek perfection should be awarded. Tremendous time, effort and expertise put into every detail of your builds! Cheers! (will be checking out your other channel and forum.)
I really like watching your videos ,a question I have is this the effect you got with that wash is awesome how it highlights the rivets and the lines around the rivets etc but when i do it it comes right off with the rest i know with recessed panel lines it stays because the paper towels cant get in to the panel line but on the raised rivets and lines i can not seem to get it to not come off as I'm taking the rest of the wash off please help
Nice build! I would like to be that good sometime but also can anyone tell me what to use to protect my paint work? Like when i use this pin wash it leaves marks on where ive touched the pin for the wash and then i go to remove it with mr.thinner and it ruins my paint! Any help?
It was an enjoyable and instructive build but I must say the final wash left a disappointing effect. In dozens of WWII photos of Corsairs from the SW Pacific, I've never seen one with gray muck glaring out from all the panel seams like that. Quite unrealistic looking. Heavier fading of the upper paint-particularly the fabric covered parts-would have given an impression closer to reality.
Its his model, his choice, you cant complain. If you dont like it, don't do it like that then... Panel washes are often used for modelling purposes to highlight kit details and not for ultra realism. Its personal preference as to what he does to HIS model.
Adam Luscombe Come to that, why not just paint the thing pink, eh? It's his model after all: he can do what he likes with it. Realism in scale modeling? Bah! Let your imagination run wild!
Then make your model as realistic as possible then if thats what you want, and i agree, thats what i go for, but you cant criticize him fro choosing to prioritize showing details.
