I love this car. Actually that beetle body in general. I had to have one and i do. 2 weeks ago i even recieved the Chrome edition. That one is easier on the stickers.

Back in the 90's you could get orange windshield wipers. I think it looks rad!

The orange wipers look great. You're going to love running it. I have a Reedy Firehawk in mine, which I know you have in your collection, she goes well!

I always loved the Blitzer Beatle. Absolutely awesome. Caleb built his as a runner and I look at it an cringe. Lol

I polished the black shell on my runner and didn't paint it due to it being a runner.. same with my Blackfoot.. so any scratches you can polish out..or put a layer of black tape on the roll over hot spots..In my experience black colour magic polish is the way to go. The details on the beetle are a bugga.... painting the nose is a must.. it will fade terribly in time.. all that said AWESOME job done mate..👍🇬🇧😎

Tamiya should add you to their payroll Glen. I've been watching your videos for a while now and have since picked up 3 Tamiya re-release kits. Prior to this, the last purchase was 1987/88 as teenager. Keep up the good work, your enthusiasm is infectious.

Looks great and when I got my kit I couldn't believe how bright the orange was. As you say, the camera doesn't do it justice. I still need to do my hard shell, to speed up my build I put a lexan beetle shell on it. After driving it a couple times I decided to put the DT-02 turnbuckle set on and once tweaked, the handling was much better and I love driving it. You have inspired me to have a look at getting my hard body done once winter is over. 👍🏻

Interesting fact, the blitzer beetle re re has clear headlight lenses and windows. The original has tinted headlights and windows and also has a rear window section. The re re has no rear window. Strange they made these changes

Hi mate if it was a full sized VW the body would probably have been handed painted and the front wings have a rubber trim between the wing and the Bonnet so the small gap is more realistic . Plus anything based on some think made in the 70s and 80s is well cool especially with a VW badge on it .

This car is a lot of fun! I have the kamtec repro lexan body for running. Also check the steering mod for the bump steer issue.

I had one of these when I was a kid, it might have been the first car I built by myself…. Then I got a rc10 stealth and never really ran it after that.

I've never been a fan of the Beetle but this kit is giving me a change of heart. It really is quite the looker and those FLUORESCENT 😉wheels really pop! Not sure I would go box art myself though because I never do go box art, so it would be a custom paint job. I'm thinking maybe all black with the chrome wheels.

I was going to give you a suggestion but I’m going to start an RC channel the goal is to promote the hobby and that’s it. But it’s going to be action packed and I live in America 🇺🇸 so there’s so many different driving conditions beaches bike trails huge dirt farms were going everywhere. I’m taking inspiration from you well you inspired me I should say. You’re buggy’s and trucks street cars everything you have one of the best collections date I say in the world 🤔🍕🇺🇸👍🏼. You might you have like every Tamiya kit and I love it well done. I want to grow the RC community because I think it’s a good hobby fun and will hopefully maybe Lee people out of trouble if there busy with the hobby. Ok 👍🏼 well done looking forward to the next video.

Looks great, im not a huge fan of the box art myself. We have a guy who throws his on the track every now and then. Looks spot on when its hammering around the track 👍

It is a hard one to run hard as I didn't want to mess up the body on mine! I just got a TBG lexan body and some Herbie decals and painted it up as a race run Herbie so I have the fun runner body and the nice one for the shelf!

Great build👍Build this kit on Christmas holiday, with xl5 and 12t titan motor. I think it's one of the best handling Tamiya. The rear tyres and the plastic wheel hex are a letdown but Proline have 2.2 tyres that perfectly fit the rear rims. Loving this kit. Thanks for featuring this kit. Much appreciated👍

Nice work Glenn! It's looks good, I agree with the wipers too. I have a Blitzer Beetle and it has hands down the worst decal job I have ever done on an RC car. It's a real failure, I also didn't paint the shell which doesn't help. It is a runner, and it has TRF shocks and a brushless system in it so it goes very well, which helps a bit.

I struggled between getting this or my classic monster beetle re release a couple years ago. I went with the monster beetle because I owned an og back in the day. But this is so cool. Not only am I a classic VW car fan but the stadium truck chassis on this looks so good! I may have to buy this.

The nose is a different color orange on purpose. It’s supposed to emulate tri colored flames or slime balls in this case

G'day Glenn wow mate it turned out so good. Yeah the colour difference between the decals and the nose cone is disappointing aye mine is the same. The wind screen wipers the side mirrors and just the quarter window in brushed aluminium would make it pop. Love your tire writing. Awesome job mate loved your video can't wait to see you run it 👍👍

It does look cool . Shame about the colour mismatch. It's a paint scheme that would look sweet if masked off an done with an airbrush. I filled and sanded the nose cone on my scorcher to loose the join

You did very well with the build mate! Sometimes the paint will sink in certain areas of the shell, and the decals are awful, after a while they start to peel, great car as a runner though 👍👍🇬🇧

That's a fine livery and I agree the colour difference on the front is disappointing. Is there an off the shelf paint that is closer? I reckon it'll look amazing in metallic black, or even matt black. It'd make the decals pop even more 👌

Glen, did you use warm water and washing up liquid for the decals? Makes them really easy to do, you can just slide them into position.

Looks superb, I bet it's going to look great running. I got one after your last video and hope to get it started next week when I'm off work. I do wonder if one of the TS paints is a slightly better match to the decals for the nose. I'm going to do the wipers like yours and I think I'll paint the rear lights orange if I can find a good match.

I think the worst part is the decals. That was the thing that put me off it. Not a fan of the fluro drip flame. I'm thinking about buying one and just painting it one colour maybe colourshift. Your one still looks good.
