Cool, some serious upgrades. Must be bulletproof now.

Not too sure, but it looks bling bling ;-) Hope the only thing that breaks now is the arms. My planned weak spots. So easy to change. Thanks for the support, buddy.

Thanks, Derek! With this one I hope somebody else who has the upgrades can use the guidance. Hope I did it right then too :-) Looking very much forward to some new Tamiyas on Holly Hill RC. You really have gotten yourself a serious tamiya collection in no time :-) Love your vids. Thanks for the support.

Very nice DT02MS. Always liked to go all out on various models with upgrades, but for me more an obsession with the Maxx trucks. Anyway I guess the mindset behind is the same. As you know I am also a s..... for these MS versions, and your DT02 looks great, and ofcourse you need the matching parts, even if not needed.
@NordicRC

Thanks Jesper! Yeah, your maxx truck builds are something out of another world :-) It's just fun upgrading sometimes, even if not needed. And I can go as crazy as I want with this one as I still have a "clean" (almost stock) DT-02 Desert Gator. It's just fun :-)

Some fine parts u got there. Hope this reduces slop to minimum.

Thanks. Hope everything doesn't break on it's first run. Well, it's raining and raining here so it's probably gonna take a while before I find out - but it was fun upgrading it :-) Thanks for watching, StankoPerko!

RcNickster Thanks! A bit unnessacary and bling-bling but it was fun :-) Yeah, love the colour combination. Got the idea from the Tamiya Fighter Buggy SV. Or I think I must have :-)

Hmmm ... I know someone who likes to upgrade his cars too :D Great video my friend.

Remote Addicted This one was totally unnessacary but it’s dark and wet outside and it itsn’t waterproof so I had to figure out how to have some fun with this one :-) Your upgrades seem more out of reason, testing and improving. But yeah, it’s hard to keep ‘em stock - but I still think I have more than 3 stock ;-) Thanks for watching, bro.

Ahhh man this is beautiful bro! I just got my dt-02 and made a blitzer beetle on this chassis. I want to do this but unfortunately all the parts are not available anymore at 3racing or other sites. I was only able to find dampers, and heatsink. Can you please tell me what brushless system is that and what motor as well. How many turns isnthe motor and is it 19t pinion? Keep up the great work and I would love to see more dt-02 videos from you

You did not consider 54395 3x22mm Low friction suspension shafts ? I mean you have pretty much all there is of hop up parts but not those. Great video series ! Btw: Where did you buy those 3 Racing parts ?
@NordicRC
@NordicRC 6 лет назад
Nice! Didn’t even though they existed. My a-arms move quite freely with the stock pins, but I might look into those. Most of my other upgrades doesn’t really do any big difference too. Thanks for the tip! I got the 3-Racing parts from a second hand lot, but have seen many of the parts elsewhere (Tamico.de for an example). Availability seem to have diminished though, so maybe 3 Racing has stopped production.

What a brilliant video! Love all of the upgrades you have added - it must be the mother of all DT02's now! I want all those goodies for my viper now but sadly don't have the budget :( As I said - I think it's you that I can learn from!!! Also loving the body paint job - the colours really compliment each other =)

Mark Bryan RC Thanks, Mark! I think I have more respect for people like you that invent and make their own tower aluminium braces instead of just buying some bling bling that other people invented :-) And I suspect your Sand Viper runs just as good, if not better, than this one. Well, I got a good deal on both the DT-02MS and now these 3Racing parts. I haven’t spend a lot of money on that. But all the electronics took a real bite out of my RC budget, but I guess you know that since you got a TBLM-02S in yours too :-) Wish I had chosen a 15T like you :-)

Mark Bryan RC By the way - Yeah I love the colour of the metallic dark blue and the anodized alloy together with the light blue of the decals. Check out Tamiyas unorthodox Sand Viper: the Fighter Buggy SV. Their design. I just added the metallic :-)

You are very kind Mikael! I don't know if mine runs as good as yours - if only we could find out!!! I does run well though - I took it around that Konghead track yesterday and boy does it go - must have lapped twice as fast as the Kong (as you would expect) but still a shock after the slower truck, needing to react much quicker when driving. Yes I think the 15T is Ideal, plenty quick enough but only after changing to the 19 tooth pinion as I think it is only 2100 kv. Batteries last almost too long as well! The TBLM was my biggest hop-up investment yet as the car was £100 and the TBLM and sensor cable almost £70, nearly as much as the car!!! Still glad I bought it though as it has transformed the car. I am now going to check out the Fighter Buggy SV!

Hi again - Just thought - If you want to see some more alloy plate mods - take a look at my 'Frankenstein's Monster Beetle Rebuilt' video - probably too much alloy really!!! Hopefully will make you laugh! Wanted to keep all the original 1986 parts as it was my first Tamiya =)

Can you give me a link to the video - have been scanning your channel and not sure I have found the correct one - many thanks =)

Thanks, Candido. Don't know. Looking for some DT-02 parts too, but they are getting rare. Tamico.de still have some of them though.

I'd like your opinion on who makes the better quality alloy bits like these, gpm,3racing, or yeah racing?
@NordicRC
@NordicRC 6 лет назад
sorryociffer It’s a great question, but I haven’t really noticed any difference in quality. They seem pretty much of the same quality and sturdiness to me. My experience with Yeah Racing is a bit small, but the products of both 3Racing and GPM Racing have not let me down yet.

Great job with the hop ups Mikael!! I just actually got a DT02MS from a buddy over it Korea :) Been trying to find those 3racing parts thou not having any luck thou.. Got a question for you thou, I have 3 brushless motors kicking around 3000kv, 3300kv, or 3900kv which one would be best in your opinion for the MS? Thanks bud keep up the great work!! :)
@NordicRC
@NordicRC 6 лет назад
Thanks Chris! Cool with the DT-02MS. Bet you will like it. Love working on mine. I think most of the 3Racing parts are not in production anymore. I got mine second hand. I have a Tamiya 10.5T brushless in mine. Think that's around 3500 kv. For me, that's too much power and torque for such a small light weighted buggy. Spins, oversteers and understeers. For this upcoming season I will probably switch to a lower turn brushless motor (16T, or 3000 kv or lower) and maybe the 19T pinion. Still plenty of power but more handy and controllable :-) But switching the motor is quite easy so you could just try 'em all :-) Good luck with it. Hope to hear how your DT-02MS adventure turns out.

No DT03 aluminium suspension front / rear bar here - simple as this they are no good combined with a Tamiya Kit Build they ruin the front & back end 💯
