these mods will run you under $50 EACH and you can have fun with either one. TITAN brushed 12 turn 550 ($25) and Ali express special BRUSHLESS 540 4300KV ($29)
Why even bother with all the other stuff until you get rid of those stupid bushings? Every penny you spend is wasted with bushings because you have to reduce all possible sources of friction to really go fast!
The titan motor is a hell ova speed upgrade. I run 1/16 e-revo wheels in the rear with 12mm adapters - they have alot of grip and are the same size as stock wheels.
That titan motor is rubbish. I have a Mardave mini that will hit 32ish mph with a core 21t motor running on 4.8v nimh. But I do like your videos and you have the same mentally as myself fast as possible as cheap as possible! Keep on rippin
Still got a original timiya frog from the 80s had lots of fun with that with the standard setup, haven't run it for years, will have to get it going again brings back happy memories from my childhood.
I would like to buy a grasshopper and run it at 24 mph (38 km/h) my question is: at this speed can I wear out the differential or the pinion or crown?
Usually the front plastic arms, the differential outer case the plastic-metal steering parts brake.Having in mind that you need full ball bearings, grease the differential with 14 armature minimum because motor runs hot(brushed motor).
Awesome man. 👍 You got my subscription. I recently brought 2 in candy green but I think I would rather keep mine mild not wild. And 1 won't get built its to keep new in box. But awesome effort man that's pretty quick💪
Thank you for this video bro. I am restoring a Tamiya Frog so I might go with a similar setup to yours. I still think my Kyosho Sandmaster has better speed right out of the box w/o modification.
You understand the grasshoppers purpose well. When you put the brushless in it I was thinking the same thing "thats just enough speed to get crazy with the grasshopper and crash". You should check out a 2wd short course 1/10 if you don't want to spend a lot of money on upgrades, want something that can handle crashes with durability, and can handle 25-40mph easy.
