The Tamiya Hornet is one of the most iconic cars that Tamiya ever produced. For many growing up in the 80's, this is the car that started off their obsession for radio control. Well it's time to bring this car to the channel. As mentioned in the unboxing video, I will not be doing this box art as I intend on turning this into a Tyco Turbo Hopper thanks to Nostalgia RC in the UK. He has created custom Turbo Hopper decals specifically designed for this car so I can't wait to see the finished product.
However, for those of you that intend on building this box art have no fear. 98% of what you will see in this series will apply no matter what paint job you decide to do on this car. If you're a beginner, you've come to the right place. I will be going through this series in meticulous detail so that even if you have never built a Tamiya R/C car before, you'll feel confident in building a Tamiya Hornet. I wish you all the best with your build and if questions arise as we go along, feel free to either email me, email address is on the about page, or comment on each video so I can address any questions there.
Above all enjoy the process! Doesn't matter if you're fast or slow at building an R/C, what matters is you have fun while doing it!
Happy building!

So cool just got my hornet for Christmas. Mine has a mech speed control. I got my first grasshopper in 1989. Thank you for the video and tips

Wow! If yours has a mechanical speed controller it must be an original! Fantastic! Your grasshopper must have had the mechanical speed controller too! Anyway…thank you and thanks for reaching out!

Hey Freddy, was wanting to build my first RC car, and your video influenced my decision. Was a challenge to find one though, 90% of stores (Victoria Australia) were out of stock, phoned a store to see when back in stock, they tried to sell me something else......'No, I want a Hornet'...but I did find one online, and it arrived today.

Well I'm glad you found one! I think you'll really enjoy it! As a first car I think it will be perfect! My local hobby store usually always has to order something in for me as they are a small outfit and don't usually have many Tamiya vehicles in stock. Keep me posted on the build!
