Not bad at all for doubling the speed just for the shake down run! Smart move putting the Mazda body on it for the runs and not ricking the Escort body out there! Best of luck to you Mark!
Hi Addam and thanks as always! Yeah I can't grumble at a speed doubling but I think I threw most of my speed tricks at it too early! LOL at least I didn't crash! That's what that Mazda shell was meant for, keeping the Escort out of harms way! Thanks dude, I'm just in it for the fun but hope to beat that pesky Craig!!! 😅👍
I don't see any of your posts on Poor Boys RC FB page.... Anyway, 30mph is a GREAT start! Good luck! Mine's coming soon, I just got my GPS speedometer on the post....
Which speedometer did you get? I was looking online the other day and the best looking one I could find was about £28 off ebay for the cheapest one that's small enough to fit + didn't need wiring-up like for a proper car etc.
Thanks brother - haha yes nobody was injured in this shakedown run thank goodness! Where has the BMW gone I wonder, maybe he dislikes the furry cheerleaders! We are pulling in a few views, I'm sure this years contest will be the best by far. Great choice of platform by the way! Cheers mate! 😁👌🙏👍
Thanks Jess (sorry I might have accidentally hit the heart button) Yeah I was surprised to go so fast on the test run! Always fun with Rob on the camera! 😁👍
Welcome to the fun and congrats, your second attempt was really good. I use the same kind of tires and put very hight expectations into. MS Fun Racer got very good experience with them on a brushless TT. Looking forward for you next runs.
Hi there my friend Fons in Holland! Glad you enjoyed this one mate! Hope you are having a super weekend over there and greets from me in the Midlands! 😎🙏👍
Thanks for donating this 14T motor, it has served me well my friend! The 10T even struggles to out perform this little jewel! Yes I think it likes this chassis mate! ATB!👍
@@MarkBryanRC Did I? Man I just can't remember... If so, all for a good cause, You, Rob & Craig, so you all can beat up each other with speed runs... Love watching the carnage... LOL
So glad you switched the shells Mark, you wouldn't want to compromise that Escort beauty. The Mazda ( if that's what it is ) is an excellent, cool looking replacement. Good luck mate, 30mph is a great start point.
Hiya mate, you know me, I'm mad but not that mad! No way was that Escort body being entered into a speed contest! 😅 Yes, the green shell is a Mazda Mx5 (or Eunos Roadster if you are in Japan). That's the beauty of this hobby, nothing gets thrown away and comes in handy eventually! Cheers dude! 🍻😎👍
Hey nice intro and a great starting speed mate. This chassis really doesn't want to be fast does it? Don't blame you for running an old shell and saving the lovely Escort. Good luck in the contest my friend 😁👍👍
Thanks Pete, well I had to have a go at an intro after seeing yours! No mate, this must be the slowest RC car that I've tried to make fast! That Escort body is a keeper for sure, the Mazda has more scuffs than I care to remember, a few more won't hurt! Good luck to you too mate! 🤞😎👍
I think the brushed is the best class, good keeping the Escort body nice and using an old one. For stock they are a slow chassis, double speed for the test 🙂
@@MarkBryanRC I'm with you keeping cost down. That's why I did not buy a kit to do this as it's all the bits on top that kills. I just had to buy a few parts for the Maxx and with a body costing £60 once pained.
@@MarkBryanRC I will be... plenty of time. I think I am going to have a full Saturday somewhere with this and the DT02 andcget loads of runs in for both.
I got that message thanks! Looking forward to more friendly rivalry this year with you - however if we both run the same motors we had in the TT02's I reckon you got this again! I just can't find any faster brushed motors that are affordable here in the UK!
Great intro I was thinking you can't smash up that beautiful Escort body so thank rc gods you chose another body 😄 There is a speed gear set for this 53342 if you can get your hands on one Wow 48,3 kph already. Good luck my friend on this years competition!
Thank you Sir! Too right, no way was I taking that Escort body for a speed contest run! Far too lovely, Are! Thanks for the tip - ordered!!! 👌👍 No way can I win this, the motors I have available are just too slow but it will be fun taking part and I'm happy about that. Some brushed cars have gone over 80kph in testing so far!!! 60kph is a good target for me! Cheers mate! 🍻😎👍
30mph straight away is pretty good, nice one! I bet if you fit a bigger pinion and do the gear mesh as one of the other MF01X videos mentioned you'll go way faster😜
Thanks Barry, yep I was quite pleasantly surprised by the test run speed and as you say I've got room for bigger pinions and then that ludicrous gear mesh to try! Cheers for watching! 😎🙏👍
Hey guys! Just catching up on content..... got all behind over the last week or so! Great introduction, and extremely pleased to see you both back for another year! Fair play for saving that delightful Escort body..... and the little Mazda actually looks kinda cool.... sporting a Green Hawks paint job to! 😂 Superb shake down speed of 30 mph in your usual car park (minus the black beema boy in the corner!) I also wanted to run in the brushed category to for this one, unfortunately the Fat controller has other ideas involving rockets..... what have I let myself in for? 🤷♂️ Good luck buddy, looking forward to following along! 👍 👍 👍
No worries James! well we gotta be in it haven't we?!?!?! More fun trying to squeeze a few more mph out of a little Tamiya. Glad you enjoyed the intro mate. Haha yes I'm in full Green Hawks livery this year - minus the turd though! 😂 Yeah we got the "speed arena" to ourselves for a change! He'll be back soon no doubt! Oh, so you are forced into the unlimited class then?!?!?!?! Good luck to you guys too, you know I'll be watching! 😎🤝👍
@@MarkBryanRC You don't need a turd mate..... You have a delightful beaver, and Rob has a purple helmeted squirrel! 😂 Yep, there's definitely an element of charm to the brushed motors.... it's great fun trying to inch that little bit faster with them. After all, it's what us guys grew up with..... and the speeds are a lot more controllable, and less damaging to the cars! Yep, we have just bought RC Doms MF01X..... now time to buy, or make some rocket jets! 🙄😬 How did I let him talk me into this?! 🤷♂️ 👍 👍 👍
@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC Wow so you got Dom's famous MF01X!?!?!? Awesome! Oh yes I have got a big hairy beaver!!! I've seen my mate Del @Del350K4 put some rockets on an RC and it didn't end well! 😅😅👍👍
@@MarkBryanRC Yep! Green Hawks RC will be destroying a much loved celebrity you tubers rc model!! This is guna go down like a lead balloon mate! 😂 😅 🤣 👍 👍 👍
@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC Nah, not a lead balloon, more like the space shuttle!!! But hey, I reckon if you do this, make sure to capture it on as many cameras as possible, the faster the shutter speed the better as you are gonna need to show the flash of lightning in slow motion (watch Dels video and you'll see what I mean - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R0Ybj2BP52Q.html But if nothing else, the run will make you guys pure LEGENDS in this series!
G'day Mukka!👩🤠. What a top looking car mate👌 she's a pearla! 30 McMile n hour🏁, it looked faster too. Good luck with the challenge Cobber, we know you're gonna have a top time. A big hello from the lovely Sheila😍 and boof head Bruce😁🦘🇦🇺
And a massive McGoodday to you and Sheila too, Cobber! 😁🙏👍 Glad you like the speed car mate! I'm not in it to win it but to have a top time like you say! Sending best wishes your way Bruce, give the girl a big hug from me! 😎🤗🦫🐨👌👍
Thanks for the tips Gabriel! I may not be brave enough for the ludicrous mesh mod and I don't think I have a motor that will pull it. I'll be happy to hit 35mph though and I'm doing this to give all my support in this to my friend Fil. Good luck with your runs my friend! 🙏😎👍
Nice work Mark, looks like brushed class is going to be quite competitive this year! Will be interesting to see how things pan out as the competition goes on. Seems we are both level pegging on 30mph at the moment, let the games begin 😂
Thanks a ton, Tony - yep this is definitely going to be close, especially with Fil in there with us! I told you our cars were closely matched didn't I?!?!?! Great start for us both, good luck going forward mate! 😎🏁👍
@@MarkBryanRC I'm hoping to get out again later in the week once my new wheels are here. Can I ask, do you have any foam tyres you can recommend that will fit the touring car wheels..? I've never used foam tyres before but interesting if they work.
I hope you get that chance to run this week. The foam tyres come pre-glued to the wheels, have a look at "Contact" foam tyres. These are the ones I am using: Schumacher Foam Tyres - 1/10 Front L26mm 37Sh Jap -- J13703
@@MarkBryanRC Thanks for the info, funnily enough someone on Fils FB page mentioned the same ones to me last night. I went ahead and ordered some, same as yours I think. Wont be here until later in the week but hoping to still get out for a run on Wednesday, hoping some other wheels I ordered might turn up tomorrow!
Those pidgeouns didn't scare that easily... Or maybe they're just lazy from all the rubbish they eat that those people throw there... Anyway, that's one Hell of a shakedown run, your MF-01X runs great! And it looks cool with that green Mazda on it. I got started building mine yesterday, I had decided to run it backwards, so now I am in big trouble trying to design the front end, so it is quite likely I have to take it all apart again and do as Tamiya says I have to, he he, we see how it goes... Is Rob joining this year also?
Haha yeah Mads, fat lazy pigeons! 🤣But as you can tell I was chuffed with this trial run. Better than expected and drives quite straight. Never throw away an old body shell! I love your idea of an MF-XV01!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with. Happy tinkering, mate! Oh, yes I think Rob is going in the brushless class 🤞👍
I added an extension to the top ball joint on the upright and shaved a little plastic of the ball connectors. You can see how I did it in my build guide.😎👍
