Looking good, Steve! I think the Sport Tuned is an ideal motor for the Monster Beetle. Just enough to make it more fun but not too much as to cause problems. She took a few tumbles out there, but that's a Monster Beetle for ya! :O)
Ripen with the bug Beauty survived for another video 💯👌. A person one time told me those scratches and character :). Got my eyes on that CCO2 defender still 👍
hi, friend! I would like to buy the tamiya monster beetle, my question is (if I put a 12-turn brushed motor on it) and I take it to 22.0 mph, do you think I will break the transmission gears? greetings😊
Hi the gearing on this is limited, I would suggest using the sport tuned motor like I did and shim the diff like i did also or buy the Mip ball diff for to make it even stronger, this going any faster than mine with the sport tuned motor will probably break a lot the body is fragile. Hope this helps.
Hey Steve👋🏻! The sport tuned definitely livened it up! So fast that even the driver bailed cuz he couldn’t handle it! 😝 That wheelie looked wicked too! Nice run brother!💪🏼🙌🏼😎
that’s the only downside to tamiya hard body’s they soon get scratched up i’ve now got a grass hopper blackfoot a super clodbuster and the newest one a sand scorcher all great fun but you tend to hold back more than lexan shells
I'm a crawler guy (mostly), basher sometimes too. The thing I love about your vids is its just pure enjoyment and being happy! No technical stuff, or over explaining things, just pure fun! Keep up the good work.
great video! it's fast :) I have the Tamiya torque tuned motor installed in mine Monster Beetle. I don't think its as fast as your's with the sport tuned motor but it's way faster than stock and more fun. :)
Great stuff Steve that bug was rocking! Sport tuned was on the money! Any faster would spoil the driving experience and take the fun out of it and the body would suffer lol. Cheers James
You rolled it and the driver fell out. I have had that happen so many times on this type of body. Looked so much better on the sand kick it up 🙂The extra power did seem to cause more rolls, but there is a limit to how much power these need for fun and this is about right. I have faster cars than my Tamiya's but for fun do they really need more.
Seems fast, I had a sport tuned in my lunchbox and it’s been a long time but I remember it being super slow, I put the gt tuned can in it after a few runs on the sport tuned
I've just renovated my vintage MB and changed the motor for a Sports tuned. Looking forward for the test drive for sure. You mentioned shims for the gearbox. Is it in between the gear and the plastic plate holding the bearing? Do you have a parts-no? The dream is a Mip ofc, but they are "a bit" expensive. Especially with freight to Sweden. 7:43 7:43
@@barsken4870 Cool! I used a full shim in my monster beetle the diff gets tight if you want you can sand a hair off to make it run a bit loser like how I did on the frog.
The black Sport Tuned motor looks great in there!! Sorry it took a couple tumbles down the rocky path and got it dinged up! It definitely seemed a bit faster and it looked great out there slinging the sand and dirt around!!
Thanks, This is about the fastest speed I would want for this thing as it will just get destroyed with anything faster! fast enough to eject the driver! LOL!!
