Shocking!!! The hopper comes good on the day! Great fun out there Craig and a very interesting watch indeed. The DT03 did look to be struggling out there but the RF just merrily bounced it's way around, I think it was smiling all the way! looking forward to the next one already! :))

Nice head to head race and not terribly surprised by the results. The DT03 does suffer on small tight tracks due to its light front end. Now that you have the Rising Fighter pretty well sorted out it is a good running buggy. Looking forward to the next run!

Always liked the hoppers and the rising fighter has great classic lines. I know it's been lightly modified, but still slightly surprised me with those lap times. Like the DT-03 too. That brushless probably really rocks on a longer flatter run.

Your track is so cuuute with all these section names and now I am really starting to like a Rising Fighter, maybe I should get one.

Love it my friend. Track is tight so things like drag brake and soft front bits also might be helpful. Also...huge improvement with the editing and cam work. IT'S RACE SEASON!

Hey nice one Craig. I would have expected the DT-03 to win all day long as that chassis handles way better but anything can happen as you have proved. I reckon the Rising Fighter could do with shorter softer springs on the back although like you say it's always going to be a hopper. I don't know if they are the JKRC shocks but I got some of those and the springs were miles too hard for these light Tamiyas but I managed to sort them with some softer Tamiya springs. Anyway, great start to the season mate 😁👍👍

Slow is Fast!!! I guessed right... Awesome video Craig!!!! Let the races begin.... It's a smaller, tighter track.. My guess is, cars with less power will have faster lap times and/or make all the laps. Of course, I say this without getting technical about suspension settings. However, I did say off-road is softer than on-road and traction might be a factor.

Oh, yes! The season is started! And definitely with an underdog taking first win! To be honest, I was expecting the '03 to struggle with understeer on that tight track, but even with weight up front and those amazing front tyres, it still disappointed... But as you said, it is what it is... Looking forward to watching some more!

I think perhaps the technical issue with the DT-03 drive train did have an impact in its time, but I still think that the shorter wheelbase of the Rising Fighter, suited the revised Orchard Raceway track. Nice! I was a little surprised that the DT-03 didn't do better. Or maybe I was surprised the Rising Fighter did so well ( it being rough terrain, and it having high CG compared to the DT-03. Excellent!

What a result for the rising fighter ! :) realistically the dt03 should have the RF licked. Providing there’s no problem in the gearbox Etc you could try a minispike front tyre like on the rear , if you’re running on grass Etc make sure you have inserts in all your tyres. You could also try a softer front spring or try some softer oil in the front shocks. Also make sure when your cars turning the car isn’t digging into the ground because you don’t have enough GC. I don’t know how much Braking you were using but you need to brake correctly to get the weight to transfer properly so the 2wd buggy gets round the corner properly. After all, DT03 has a sense of stability. I think it's one of Tamiya's famous cars.

I did not expect the Rising Fighter to win! The DT-03 struggled with the tighter corners. I might be due to its longer wheelbase. Nevertheless, a well -deserved victory for the RF. 👍

Not the results I would have expected. Your smaller track wasn't well suited for the power of the brushless Rising Fighter. Just proves the point that speed and power don't win races. A proper set-up and a good driver wins races.
