Very cool. I've the same feelings as you for this car. A rere would be cool, but I fear they would do the Sonic first. It has better parts, but don't look as slim as the Striker. Maybe we see the many times announced Falcon first. So I just enjoyed your video. I like that you still have the old RC technology in it.
The Striker is a neat one but I doubt we see it again. But Tamiya does some odd and strange things so it is anyone's guess really what they are going to do next! LOL! Personally I would leave it as is and take it out for a run or two and then go through the whole restoration process and swap out all the parts and get it looking as good as possible and let it live as a shelf queen. Have fun with it and enjoy it how you would like though. It is your kit and your memories to play around with as you wish, I'll watch the videos! LOL!!
I have a feeling that Tamiya won't rerelease it. That's why I caved and went this route! There probably wouldn't be enough money doing this car, again. I agree that I should just reassemble it with the old parts. There's nothing wrong with any of them, just some scratches. Obviously someone loved this car enough to keep it in good shape, it's just the rear suspension broke.
Was my first and worst. After buying my 3rd chassis I managed to trade it to a kid at the local track for a grasshopper. Best swap I ever made in RC!! That's a great score for the sentimentality though. I thought about picking one up for a shelf queen a few years back but for what they go for now I decided some things should stay in the past! lol
