hey Keith! YUP, this is the FRAT trans, it's for sure the most complicated reverse 2/speed system ever made for an RC. This one works, but needs to be adjusted some more.

The year was 2002 and I was working part time while studying. I knew I wanted to try a nitro after having a few tamiya electrics and I had no idea this truck was available. I purchased a hyper 7 pro but by the time I bought high torque servos, a starter box, RX pack, glow igniter, engine etc I paid almost double. I wish I had of purchased a truck like this instead. More fuel efficiency, two speed, reverse, and great looks!

Thanks bro! This truck needs some work still, mainly the ZERO compression engine and the slipping forward one way in the trans. Well, at least knowing the problems is a good start, right.

Time to 3d print a replacement e starter wiring mount and a new 3 servo radio box to fix the FRAT.🤔

hey bro! That would be a terrific 3d print to make. I looked into the reality of what it takes to make prints and it's tougher than it seems, the only good solution would be to get an expensive 3D scanner that could make the 3D file for me. Otherwise I'd need to learn some sickening software tools, lol.

Yes a 3D scanner is required otherwise you need to be a 3D modeller. But overall easier to have someone with the part just scan it for you

hey dude! I mean, in some ways yes! But overall this Is a totally different design, and far more complicated. trans does not use a 3rd channel for reverse and its got a huge 1/5 steering servo. Thanks for watching bro.
