As a ranger fan, It was an honor to have Marty lace up with the Blueshirts, a career I will always remember. To be honest though, Marty is a true Tampa Bay Lightning player. Amazing to see his number and jersey immortalized in the Amalie Arena.
@Yeah Words a lot of people don't even realize how dominate vinny was. During his prime he was legitimately our best player, and it wasn't even close. Matt Cookes cheap shots ruined him. St.louis had a better career yes, he maintained his level of play longer. His prime though.. wasn't at the same levels of Vinnys.
When I was a kid, I had a poster of the current NHL stars. It had Joe Sakic, Pavel Datsyuk, Mike Modano, Martin Brodeur, and Martin St. Louis. That's how good this guy was, in a league overflowing with talent. Sad that he's going, but what a player to watch!
