How did this woman become Chief of Police for a large city? At the very least her credentials should show experience in the very basics of being a cop and knowing the rules. To not know that you have to register a four-wheeler is knowledgeable to even a middle school child. People are saying but it was a golf cart. Which any recreational vehicle has specific regulations to be able to drive them on the road and anyone that has drove them on the road know whether it was legal or not. Perhaps she was playing dumb but she was being stupid. As Forrest Gump's mother would say stupid is what stupid does.
Tbf these golf carts are mostly driven on private property in gated communities (and they were mere yards away from their community) her husband should have known better and she should have just kept her mouth shut (she wasn't even liable for the ticket as she wasn't driving) but it's something that most normal ppl would just get a warning for as well given the circumstances.
*Recreational vehicles have specific regulations to be driven on a public road. Anyone who has driven one on a public road knows whether it's legal or not.
Listening to her interview was like an 8th grader reading their book report ....Castor , you should be removed/voted out of office. This was the person that you thought was the most qualified ? You knew of her past but chose her anyway. Her lack of professionalism and ethics came back to bite you and her. When hiring a person as a Chief of Police there is no second chances Mayor , we the citizens of Tampa deserve better, second chances is something you give to children not to a head Law Enforcement Official. You're a Mayor ,you work for us just Like Bob and Iorio did, ..... Clearly you were playing the "buddy system" in giving her that job. If not then your selection and decisions process is poorly lacking, at best...
100%! Mayor Castor definitely needs to go! Her response was juvenile and full of lies! The fact that she was allowed to continue her career in Tampa after her incident in '95 is a joke! Okay, she gets a second chance. Fine. She should have never been appointed Chief of anything. Mayor Jane Castor proves once again that she is not fit to lead Tampa. Who votes for these people!
Police ALWAYS identify to the stopping officer. It is expected as a "professional" courtesy that the stop will be ended with NO tickets. The business card was extended as one favor for another.
No she doesn't. A man wouldn't resign. In fact, there are numerous examples of male offenders in many different careers who simple refuse to quit when confronted w/egregious behavior. Since the deck clearly isn't stacked fairly, it's time for women to start behaving likewise.
She spoke too much. All she had to do during the stop was answer questions eventually being identified. But the fact she was so eager to boast about her title bit her in the butt. Good riddance!

Whenever s cop gets pulled over they all look to get some "professional courtesy" by flashing their badge, sometimes that works this time it exploded in her face , I suspect she will be replaced and she will be demoted

I wouldn’t doubt it, she does have a trompist type of attitude, and the governor would probably oblige her, with another position somewhere else. I’m saying that this is the way America would look, if the current governor of Florida, and the dictator want to be Donald J Trump became of the power.

Isn't knowing the traffic rules part of her position ? If she did not know, she should have found out prior to going out in public with it. She should have lead by example, and honestly, it agitates me because woman have to work in certain fields 10 times harder to be taken seriously. Many will not admit that there is a gender bias in certain career fields, but there is definitely an unspoken preference. By her behavior, police legitimacy is yet again..questioned.
Several problems with this. 1. She's only appointed because of affirmative action and feminism. 2. As chief of police, let her drive a golf cart. No big deal. Can't blame her for honestly trying to talk her way out of a ticket. 3 During the interview with the captain, she should have been straight forward and said, "I'm the fucking chief of police......yea, I did it and I'll do it again. Now kiss my feminist, undeserving of this job, ass!"
Now that some of the rot has been clean ed out of TPD, its time for TPD Officer Spencer Adkinson to pay restitution for not working his full shift; my complaint against him for this was SUSTAINED, ALWAYS film the police. They can run, but they can't hide.
