Real world review of the Tamron 150-600mm lens. This is a great lens for anyone on a budget wanting to get started in sports or wildlife photography.

Nice to see real world images from sports with these lenses. Usually I just find animal images, and have been wanting to find more sports use.

I'd really like to see your technique for shooting through chain link. I'm currently using an 18-300mm with a diameter of 67mm easy enough to actually line up with a selected hole. The 150-600 has a 95mm lens and I'm concerned I'm going to be catching fence all day. Thanks!!! *Your videos have been great and very relatable.

Great review and you are a good man to hold that for 5 and a half hours. I have this lens along with the Nikon 200-500. The Nikon is sharper and the vibration control is better, but the Tamron is so much lighter and the extra reach 100mm can be beneficial for at a game. I agree that the sun must be right when you are using this lens or the Nikon, (and there is no way I would be holding the Nikon over an hour) but to your credit you mentioned some of the things that might have made your focusing sharper like using the limiter to improve autofocus, which I have done and it does work, but has the unintended consequences of making you forget to turn it off when you need to. What you gain by using a lens like the Tamron is the experience needed that when you do get a better lens that you are very proficient using it. Also using a monopod to be more stable and you are right the higher shutter speeds can negate vibration control, but so does shooting on a tripod, but you are more likely to have a monopod at a sporting event than a tripod. Keep up the great work that you do as your content from a sports prospective is incredibly important and we all appreciate your time and the fact that you approach this from a budget prospective, which is so important in this day and age.

It's the most fun lens i have ever owned, yes fixed lenses are sharper and give professional sharpness. It is not a wildlife or sports lens these disciplines are the cutting edge of lens technology but for a 1000 dollars you can participate and have some success that can match the professionals and their big whites through content. This does a job, i will make money from its unique images and the pixel peep is adequate though not tack sharp. An all rounder that can be used all day, it is what it is, fills a gap in my range that can be used without a mono pod. Hanging from my shoulder on an elasticated strap with neoprened hood and rain-cover it's a walk around obscured under my coat, and its 600!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way i am losing this unless canon give birth to an awesome little B, stard 200 600.

If you shoot Nikon, 200-500 f5.6 is a much better choice.I really liuke Tamron's new lenses but the 200-500 is wonderful, especially on the D500. I used it a lot last year for baseball and the AF is as close as you can get to a 300 f2.8 at 1/4 the price and with 2 stops less light.

I thought you were using the 120-300? I'm personally not a big fan of the 300 f4 but as long as it works for you.
