Le morceau - Tamuke - signifie l'offrande, les mains jointes. Il est traditionnellement joué pour exprimer et soulager la souffrance du deuil. La proximité entre l'art de la flûte est celui du pinceau est remarquable, l'un et l'autre faisant partie (avec l'art du bouquet, du thé et du poème haïku) de la formation des samouraï devenus moines zen. I studied it for years under a recognized Master of the Japan Educational Calligraphy Federation 日本教育書道連盟 (Nihon Kyōiku Shodō Renmei), reaching the II dan: believe when I say it's a very difficult path.
