Im a parent. If you forbid something the kid is definitely going to do it anyway. Kids mimic their parents, if the parents are keen to have addictive behavior so will the kid. If not gaming, it might be alcohole or drugs, I'd prefer gaming addiction over any other addiction any day for my kids. Give out information and let your kid make their decision is the best choise. Reverse psychology works very well too.

Maggie Carolin So many others strive for that worship but then they realize how bad it sucks and wish for normal conversations again. If you ever meet anyone famous (or that has a big following) just be down to Earth with them. I have friends in the entertainment/music business. You’re right. My parents always let me play video games as long as I had my homework and chores done. And now I do the same with my kids. Moderation. Some of my best memories was playing video games with my dad. I see no harm in gaming as long as it doesn’t start disrupting your whole life or worst. I still game to this day as a adult and hope my kids get those awesome memories I did as a kid with my dad.
