Boyd should be on the GC Titans bench slowly "Drip-Fed" into First Grade, as his "Week to Week Education" of the NRL!! Prime example being Ash Taylor who joined the Titans from the Broncos, Bennett(at that time)was slowly bringing him along, getting and giving him small, but necessary experiences in first grade here & there, but Taylor didn't want to wait behind Hunt or Nikorima(which was a fair point to a certain extent) and felt he was ready to carry the Titans at an early age, which as you can see, resulted in his current "hiatus" from the game to date!! The GC Titans have somewhat of an "Gem" in Tanah Boyd, but they've got to do the right thing by him(with his help of course, aswell as with their other players coming through their "echo system" also) if they're going to have a genuine chance of being a competitive outfit going forward into the long term & beyond!!!!!!!
Bennett said he was good enough to play first grade already and he was being wasted at the broncos behind Hunt and Milford. Also Taylor's current hiatus is because of his addiction to gambling, nothing to do with getting a debut. At the titans he was going to be behind Elgey and Roberts anyway but Elgey tore his ACL in preseason and Taylor got promoted to the starting squad round 1, he did so well he kept the 7. His troubles have nothing to do with his debut and everything to do with his own personal life.
Without doubt @@youbetzler! Ashley Taylor's definitely a wonderful talent(especially, when he's 💯 on his game) & as you correctly stated(in your previous post), Bennett did, in fact say that Taylor was ready to experience First Grade, but had also expressed his dismay of having to let him go aswell..... "I never wanted to lose a player of Ash’s ability. Sometimes guys only get one opportunity at this level and it wouldn’t have been fair to keep Ash Taylor stuck behind Ben and Anthony." - Wayne Bennett In saying that, Taylor's "Personal" matters(as you'd previously mentioned) as the reasons of his lacklustre On-Field Performances, lay in contrast to sources that have stated that it is the expectations of his Professional Life that have driven him towards....as you've said...."Gambling"!! Now, the case in point intended from the original post & still withstanding here, was the Titans(every other club also) taking precautionary steps in introducing Tanah Boyd(and every upcoming player for that matter) into The Life & Expectations of an Professional Athlete!!!! As an personal opinion as it pertains to Ashley Taylor i believe had he remained at the Broncos under Bennett & learned the game at the clubs pace & not the glaring spotlight of the publics domain) he'd be better served & seasoned both personally & professionally in "his present say & age"....
@MANCHESTER UNITED cool... is there a point? Aside from the fact that you can't count. League is popular in at least 8 countries. But nobody anywhere is claiming it's more popular than soccer.
