I never believed in cables but oh my , I was about to give up on my origin since my ie600 was way better , but with cable switch to copper my origin is better top to bottom in every way over ie600 and Doscinco , it sounds like a 800 dollar iem..Andy no other reviewer swapped the cable on there review and this makes a big difference , it's a keeper and my top one now..thanks andy
Had the chance to try this IEM and it’s love at first note… lolz!!! If money is no issue, this is no brainer. Thanks for the review. Really nailed how it performs and sounds like.
Good review bro. I used to have the Oxygens during its early days. It was a great set but my sound preference eventually moved from fun analytical to warm/dark, thanks to tinnitus. Good to see the new updated version from Tanchjim. I am not sure about the pricing in today’s market when there is so much competition. Nonetheless good to see solid options under $300. Will you be reviewing the Shuoer S15? I’ve heard it took a very different approach from S12’s. Seems like S15’s are the most natural sounding planars infact they don’t sound a lot like a planar and tonality is very smooth and tuning seems to be leaning analog’ish. If possible, it would be interesting to see your take on those + a comparison with the other unique planar Nightingale. Thanks bro.
Thanks. I tried to get a review sample from LETSHUOER but they haven't responded to me until today, so unlikely I will review S15 anytime soon. Butbif you want true natural organic smooth analog sound, then my recommendation is SIVGA Nightingale which is my personal favourite and the only IEM that I truly use more over everything else I own, then there's also Venture Electronics SIE, similar to Nightingale but a traditional single DD and less transient speed like Nightingale planars, but no less amazing
Really good review as always. I've never tried a Tanchjim iem, although I'm aware they are highly rated. I've got the Sennheiser IE600 which I think is the endgame dynamic set.
Thank you so much for such detailed reviews, Andy! You have no idea how much you have helped me on deciding on what IEMs to pick. I've never given changing cables a try, so this'll be the first for the Tanchjim Origin. That being said, I currently have a Qudelix 5K with me to pair up with the Origin. What do you think of this combo? Could I have gone for a better option to pair with the Origin? I'd very much appreciate the honesty.
5K will offer enhanced dynamics and highly technical output in conjunction with Origin. But if you find it to be a bit spicy, then I would recommend something more neutral and natural like ONIX Alpha or iBasso DC07Pro
Love your channel and the way you explain sound characteristics. I think you are the best sound reviewer on you tube. How would FC6 pair with Tanchjim Origin?
Thanks!. The pairing of Origin and FC6 is like match made in heaven. FC6 provide note weight and analog smoothness which can be slightly subdued on the Origin if to be paired with less dense DAC/Amps. So you get excellent balance of technical precision and smooth musical transient in that combo
Man glad to see you back, best dressed man on YT IMO. However, you do look sick as hell compared to the valkynaz announcement video. Rest and stay healthy.
I don't know, even from the sound tests on RU-vid - it's very noticeable. That the MP145 has big problems with the midrange (as well as the S12). I had Panda (P1Max) and S12/S12Pro twice and after direct comparison (and even with cheap ones like Zero or C2 Warrior) - S12 has a melancholic detachment in vocals, because of which the interest in listening disappears. In 145s, in my opinion, it is even more pronounced. Although now both Panda and Xenns Tea2 are resting for me - after 200 hours of burning up, my attention was completely absorbed by EW200.
Andy you are sooo right , I liked the origin but it didn't overall compare to my Doscinco , clean a bit bright for my taste , but like magic I changed cable from my copper ones from blessing 2 and now it compete and edges my doscinco , clarity is kept with fuller bass
Hello Andy Very Good Review , Helps a lot ! I have a question, Do you have some cable recommendations for tanchjim origin other than Valkynaz to show its best performance? I want to buy AAV Valkynaz but i can't find it anywhere at my country Thank You andy, keep up the good work !
Thanks. Valkynaz is a custom made cable by me. So all of them are ordered directly by contacting me via email. Otherwise, you can also get NICEHCK MixPP 6N OCC
@@donglemadness thank you for the answer andy, and one more question does using Onix Alpha Xi1 and changing the cable to valkynaz or nicehck also improve the Bass or give a little more bass ?
Great review. I am getting the Origin in a few days as my first IEM. I will only be streaming thru apple music on my iphone 13 and bought the Jcally jm7l as dongle. Do you think I would need to upgrade for a dac and cable? My budget for upgrading is around 100-150 usd.
Good evening MR, sorry I want to ask. I am confused in choosing between BQEYZ Wind or Tanchjim Origin as my Oxygen companion. For the record, my playlist is mostly J-Pop with female vocals and using DAC DC04p. Which one is better for me to choose and what the reasons ? Thank you
Evening. For Jpop I would say BQEYZ Wind would be more suited, as it offers denser and richer lower end. Origin is for a more transparent and less colored sound. So you decide on which sort of sound presentation you will like more. Both already some of the very best IEMs in my ranking system
the origin unfortunately wasnt for me, loved the fit and original wire ergonomics, very light and out of the way. But i unfortunately do not like harmon tuning almost at all. Its super clean and crisp but harmon seems to just be too uninspiring for me, and the origin were a little peaky to me. But I recently went big boi and got the softears twilight at almost 4 times the price xD anyway, great review as always! hope you're doing well, i hope to get your cable some day so i can show you some support
Harman tuned? to me Origin is anything but Harman. Harman tuning typically have subdued Midbass and heightened Subbass, Origin is the opposite, it is closer to neutral target. But it seems you may like the warmer sounding Tanchjim KARA instead. Cheers and thanks!
@@donglemadness ah, as im not familiar with FR i thought i remember hearing from other reviews that they were a harman tuned iem similar to aria 2, but maybe neither are harman and im making it up lol. Or maybe i assumed neutral meant harman, well anyways, i guess neutral doesnt work for me too well lol.
Hi Andy , Question for you not necessarily for this IEM but having used full size headphones all my listening life 40 plus years lol I'm considering going down the rabbit hole of wired IEMs but I don't know where to start! My price is budget orientated around the $100 to $150 mark , I prefer a warm sound analogue like but decent soundstage , I don't mind going a bit into the hi fi type sound also I have followed your channel for many years regarding dongles and I have on my desk a Fiio KA17 and a Cayin RU6 (both superb and immensely enjoyable in different ways) Just point me in the direction of a couple of IEMs you'd recommend for me to give me a starting point. I respect your choices and views
Thanks. for under $150, have a look at my review of Rose Technics Light Year Star City 5 Pro, that one I wholeheartedly recommend for balanced near neutral sound and while not exactly warm, it is natural as it is smooth. Other than that, Celest Pandamon 2 and Kefine Delci would hit closer to warm sounding and open soundstage. Good luck!
I prefer DC04Pro to complement the equally transparent sound of Origin, they are like Yin and Yang, DC06Pro and DC03Pro would spice it a bit with some coloration on dynamic transients, which means that if you want a more vibrant sound, you go for those two instead
Best origin review and ty for the cable recommendation will purchase. I use my phone and Spotify what upgrade can i do for $200 and under for a dongle or dap or a dacamp?
Thanks, for DAC/Amp under $200? with that money you can easily get the very bests which are HIBY FC6 or EPZ TP50 or Questyle M12i, lot's of options under $200 really and price is no longer a factor for absolute quality
Сравнивал напрямую с hayday. Уступает по многим параметрам, к тому-же имеет своеобразные посадочные места под 2pin, что делает практически невозможным использование других кабелей.
@@donglemadness thanks , and if just by a hair then it's no need to get that one , to me origin with a different cable is tough to beat , something has to be like much much better.
@shogun5436 Hey , did you review the Doscinco ? I have it and listened for about a hour with same songs going back and forth and to my ears Doscinco edges it out , it had a little more body/fullness towards instruments and vocals a bit better , so I had to return the origin since it was even to lesser in sound to Doscinco.
At least user NICEHCK MixPP 6N OFC, but of course AAV Valkynaz is the one that I use the most for being fuller bodied sounding without losing resolution. Any good 6N high purity copper will likely work better than most SPC for Origin
Hi, i'm planning to buy this Tanchjim Origin today, but i only using FiiO BTR15. Do you think Tanchjim Origin and FiiO BTR15 has a good synergy? Is it necessary to upgrade my DAC to maximize the sound quality of Origin?
Synergy wise yes, Origin and BTR15 would sound great, airy and open sounding with proper balance of analytical details and musical smoothness. So you should be good
I was planing to get the Hexa, shanling UA4 Dac , Tripowin 4.4 mm balanced cables , and Spinfit W1 ear tips . And I will use apple music on my s23 plus to stream lossless music Do you think it's a good combination for a beginner ?
Yes, it does sound like an excellent setup not just for beginners, you would probably be satisfied with it that it will take a lot to go up from there onwards
Not applicable. Tanchjim ZERO rating is a very personal subjective thing from me, it is highly biased by my own taste and preferences. The ratings for other IEMs are objective, but Tanchjim ZERO is heavily influenced by subjectives
Eartips depends on user. It differs from one person to another. While I use KZ Foam tips exclusively because it is the very best for my ears, it may not work at all for others. This is something you will need to trial and error
Why HidizsMP145 is not under Andyaudiovault Favorite because you had mentioned several times how good is HidizsMP145 and it is ur fav along with nightingale after shureKSE1500
have three favorites, MP145, A5000 and Nightingale, I happen to use Nightingale more over the other two since it arrived, if you watch my 2023 conclusion video I mentioned that Nightingale came later but it is my most used IEMs now
If you ask me, I recommend KZ foam tips which I use all the time, including on this Tanchjim Origin. Just remember that ear differs from one person to another and while a specific foam tips works great for me, it could be different for you
For highly technical output, UA4 and KA17 would be equally good for Origin, Snowy Night offers a bit more of musical smoothness but not as technical as UA4 or KA17. The best one? I find Origin to sound the best with HIBY FC6, Questyle M12i and FiiO Q15
Hello and thank you. Is it the same shell than the Hanna? I'm asking because I couldn't keep this Iem in my ears, too small, too heavy, with short nozzle.
In a way it is more similar to Etymotic ER2XR (with mild Bass boost), ER2SE is flatter neutral, HD600 is more organic, but in general yes I would say they are similarly grouped
It is an clear upgrade. Tanchjim ZERO rating is a very personal subjective thing from me, it is highly biased by my own taste and preferences. The ratings for other IEMs are objective, but Tanchjim ZERO is heavily influenced by subjectives
Hi sir im struggling for almost a month which to choose: tanchjim origin, sivga nightangle, hidisz mp145. Im moving forward to upgrade my current iems are : simgot ew200, tangzu waner, tanchjim zero, kz d-fi. Is it worth it if i upgrade?😢 please help me to decide.
If you like the smoothness of Wan'Er SG and the speed of Tanchjim ZERO/DF-i, then I think you will love SIVGA Nightingale, I am recommending Nightingale because I have all the IEMs you mentioned and I use Nightingale the most, for being the most immersive and velvety analog sounding. But if you want better technicalities, then MP145 and Origin would be the better option
@@donglemadness Can i used the full potenial of sivga nightangle in my dac ibasso dc 04 pro and xiaomi redmi note 13 5g? im not sure about the technical terms but im more on resolution and curiousity about the improvements of my listening to music/audio. Thank you for the recommendation. but lastly i want to know the percentage of improvement from my current iem to sivga nightangle. It helps me a lot. Btw i dont like the singot ew200 i gave it to my father.
Have a look at 07:09, there I mentioned that if I wish Tanchjim ZERO could be improved, Origin is the answer. The rating I did for Tancjim ZERO btw largely subjective to my taste and preferences, I am quite fond of that ZERO, but the rating for Origin is more objective, because it earned it not by favoritism
From MP145 to Origin is not an upgrade per se, it's more like a side grade to different sound tuning as MP145 is a strong V sound curve with markedly more energetic transients, Origin is tuned to edge closer to neutral curve and milder dynamic energy
I haven't tried Quintet yet so I have no idea how it compares. Origin is more neutral than MP145, otherwise they are quite comparable in many ways, MP145 exhibiting strong V sound curve and more energetic, Origin opted for a more mature timbre presentation, both of which I equally enjoy for what they are
It depends, not necessarily Chifi or non Chifi, I have many IEMs of different make, regardless where they came from, ultimately how they are built determines how long they will last. I have had a 100% made Grado SR60 deteriorate within 3 years, the same can be said of some other brands from elsewhere. I also have a couple of Etymotic which lasted many years. Many of my older Chifi IEMs are still with me working perfectly even after 3 years, and I do have some that already failed, but mainly because I was careless. So it depends

I found Origin needing more amping than what a dongle(FC6) provides. I used Mojo and it's quite different and authoritative. I see you found it very efficient.
That's quite alright, I even use FC6 to drive Sundara and HD600, even if I have 3000 mW BURSON Audio Playtmate 2, JDS Labs stack and VE Prime DAC stack, with FC6 the sound is full and engaging and I don't find it lacking especially when I am not comparing. I understand people have different sensitivity to sonic resonances and this is why you are hearing what you hear
