Perhaps you may want to avoid touts who are out to get your money. Just refuse them politely and they'll eventually leave you alone. The best is if you can get your own guide to bring you around if you're unsure. Talk to people. Ask for directions etc. They will help. As I said people are generally nice and friendly as long as we are not rude ourselves. This applies to all other cities.
