For me, this is absolutely the best live album of Tangerine Dream. It is always somewhere in the back of my mind. Incredible how this was performed fully live by 3 musicians. Keep spinning the CD every now and then ...
Love this. I first heard this on a radio station about 3am making out with my girlfriend in the back seat of my '71 Mustang. Stoned of course ! Then they played Cherokee lane. I went out the next day and bought the album. Been listening to this album ever since then. Oh, I ended up marrying her. That was 1979 ! Gotta play it LOUD !
1977,i was in oakland,sf,listen tothe chanel, camel 109,first time i hear this fucking great music,i was 17 years old that time,i went from holland to the usa, alone. radio chanel, camel 109 that was great.
The outro to this starting at about 15 minutes in, is the most memorable aspect of this composition to me. It comes to a head and breaks like a huge wave toward the end, completing the movement. It's something that will always stick with me when I think of this track. It's gorgeous.
Awesome song, love Edgar's guitar! The first time I heard this was when I was at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium when this song was recorded - still have my ticket stub...
Been listening to TD since Phaedra days the good old 70s , still very much listening today , music is my solace ,love the old stuff best stoned and chilled RIP Edgar a brilliant musician sadly missed 😥😥😥🤘🤘🤘💕
the first time I heard this, I was with a buddy of mine, and we tripping on cid! 1981. After it was over, we looked at one another and said, "F, what in the hell was that"?
Me too, April 1st, 1977 @ The Aragon Ballroom Chicago . The following week Led Zeppelin came for a four day series of concerts at the Chicago Stadium , their last in North America.
On visiting my chums’ home regarding a Queen or someone similar album in 1979 , it was the sound coming out of his ‘ Hairy ‘ older brothers’ box room which made the bike ride worth the effort. On his turntable was Force Majure ( clear vinyl too ) . I was soon issuing him blank Memorex Cassettes ( his specification - not scuzzy ‘ Top 20 ‘ - filled ‘ Soundhog ‘ or EMI C90s or worse still C120s’ which would apparently threaten his machines’ well being ) on which he copied This , Madrigal Meridian and Force Majeure . I still have it in the roof. These blokes cured me of Anxiety throughput revision exercises at Poole Technical College and led me into all manner of Forbidden Experiences soon after. “ Work and Play - Tan Dream showed the way “ 😁Thanks for uploading this as I haven’t a machine to play cassettes 🙄❤️from Wilverley Enclosure Witches
Prawda Mysli ich hab T D 1980 live in Düsseldorf gesehen und es wird unvergesslich sein !!! Klaus Schulze war auch sehr gut aber kein Vergleich zu der super b Bühnenshow !!!
This performance is what TD achieved before doing something else. There’s a full composition here worth focused listen. The last five minutes can project you.
Years ago I never had this recording to begin with, this was due to a bad mis - pressing of the album. Side three had four songs on it! I wonder how many others had the same fault?
ENCORE was the first album I bought of TD, in 1978. I thought, and I still do, if ya going to listen to a new band, pick one of their live albums! Track 4, though, should never have made it, onto the album!
MICHEL GOGUELAT GOLDREAM2 ( compositeur musique planante )
I totally agree but even if they wouldn't have used guest musicians on Cyclone or taken Schmoelling on, I think their sound still would have changed. TD have almost always been a band heavily influenced by advances in music technology; as the sounds of 80's and 90's synths, etc. grew more streamlined and sleek, so too did their compositions.
@@beardhawk3308 that is true technology goes forward but after pergamon I don't like nothing they become commercial and stop exploring and quit improvising
@@Patriot1389 I hear ya. Their songs did start getting a lot shorter around that time. For me, Optical Race was their last great album, for the sheer strength of its memorable themes. But it can't hold a candle to Encore or most of their earlier works.
