From the 2011 2CD compilation album 'RIDE ON THE RAY; THE BLUE YEARS ANTHOLOGY 1980-1987'. Classic FROESE/FRANKE/SCHMÖLLING, but unknown, until this album was released. Presenting a new video to celebrate this timeless music.
This is only one of 4 tracks that were unreleased, before the Dreamroots Collection box set in 1996, the four long pieces featured on the 5th CD are performed by Froese and Franke only, after Schmoelling departed and before Paul Haslinger arrived.
Stunning track that I'm sure any former members of the group would love to claim a piece of. Sounds a bit like a left over from the "Canyon Dreams" sound track, although neither Haslinger or Schmolling is mentioned in the credits according to "Voices in the Net".
I'd love to se a new video for "Valley Of The Sun" by you as well! Your videos are miles ahead of all the others! You really do an amazing job! Thanks Again!!
The way it sounds, probably only Franke (same as its counterpart "Valley of the Sun" was probably Froese on his own). At that time they had already started recording tracks individually and bringing them together (if anything, with minor retouches) for the respective album / soundtrack. That's precisely one of the interesting aspects of this time: it became increasingly evident which elements of TDs sound came from each member, even if the sounds of the synthesizers were increasingly homogenic.
In "Voices in the Net" it's undated. If you want to talk about sound, it definitely influenced the sound Franke used in his first solo album 4 years after leaving the group. Probably reworked by Froese alone... and the reason it sounds more "classical" than the "pop" sound that Franke was leaning towards. (You have to assume it NEEDED a lot of extra work if it remained unpublished for 10 years).
@@gnordache4405 My guess is that both "Vanishing Blue" and "Valley Of The Sun" were originally done by Christopher and (possibly) reworked by Edgar for inclusion on The Dream Roots Collection. "Beach Bay Bunker" & "Red Morpho" are almost certainly done by Edgar on his own. Of course this is all IMHO. But over the years I've learned to know Edgar's style of composition and his output in Tangerine Dream. And to be honest, "Vanishing Blue" & "Valley Of The Sun" do not fit this style at all, whereas "Beach Bay Bunker" & certainly "Red Morpho" do. And if I'm less strict in my opinion, then I would say that "Valley Of The Sun" & "Beach Bay Bunker" are both Christopher/Edgar compositions, "Red Morpho" solely Edgar and "Vanishing Blue" solely Christopher. But again, this is all IMHO. :-)
Hello there, I am looking for a song name of Tangerine Dream which was in the album Love & Emotion. I used to have that cassette and searched online but no luck. Do anyone have any idea about that song name?
James Robinson you could email Bianca Froese -Acquaye, at eastgate@gmx.com, for advice, but the music is licensed to Esoteric Recordings and they might be your best bet🙂
