I chose to put "I'll no longer be ignored" to put emphasis that he's been ignored before and is fed up with it ^^ but yeah I agree, it could've used a bit more emotion aha! I tried to take your advice and do that more in my latest cover of Let Me Make You Proud reprise, I hope you like it!
K-Ty For the lyrics you used I feel a better way to both keep them and make it sound right would be to hold the notes longer like some of the other parts, like you’re riding up a staircase to get to the final “ready as I’ll ever be” on that part, if that makes sense
I love the lyrics “because I know that I’m right” because it’s true he was betrayed by one of his friends who promised him to help whenever which is sad and there is so much more to it and this song is amazing because it goes deeper into what Varian was feeling
I keep singing this under the shower or when my friends are leaving me on my own. Which, unfortunately, happens quite often, and I am alone most of my life. Yesterday I failed in a project and everyone was blaming me even though my co workers were mostly to blame. I ran away and sung it under the moon, after I felt better. You are REALLY talented. I love Varian and I enjoyed the power of his confessions. You should sent the Tangled creative stuff your other songs., I would love to hear them in the show.
Yeah, I can relate, I was left alone after 2 of my friends went with their friends, and my two other friends leftme to do some work. I felt alone even though it was only an hour, but, I mean, that hour is when we all socialize the most, lunch break, so I felt a bit down. And plus, someother stuff happened in that lunch time that made me angry(well, more like jealous), but I tried to calm my self down, and before I knew it, I was singing the last part of I will make you proud(the cover that K-Ty did) XD

@@TheMerchantThief I am okay. Still melancholic at times and very deeply in imagination, but life is quite okay and interesting for me. I am studying philosophy + psychology, and I write a lot, both for fantasy and real world stuff. Still, it's crazy that it was 3 years ago. I am still a bit of a loner, and sometimes wish I could change a little, yet for majority of time I manage very well.

The voice fits amazingly, the parts where it breaks really gives it that feeling that this is a kid not an adult, it also adds some vulnerability to it.
This is just so good! You really capture his character well in the other lyrics and they fit into the style of the original song perfectly. Would love to have seen Varian sing something more like this in the show

Oh my... THIS IS AWESOME! I really enjoyed it! It fits him alot. That part normally King Frederic and Rapunzel singing together, "I never wanted to do this..." reflects his strungles and being first not sure if he actually should do it. I am pretty sure he actually was first scared about what he thought and planned. But the negativity and his age made let him believe this is the way he can get the help he wanted. May I sing your lyrics someday in the future? I would love to do a cover with it and maybe I'll draw an animatic if I get the time. Surely your name will be all over the place. I will say the lyrics is amazing, the vocals I feel it could go into work there we're some parts that felt like you had a hiccup, dying out of breath or just had your voice cracked. Other than my complains you did VERY well
