Tangophone | Martin Hybler | Covert Sax Quartet 

Tango originated in the working-class neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the late 19th century. It started as a dance and music style that combined elements of African, European, and indigenous cultures. Tango gained popularity in the early 20th century and spread to Europe and the United States. It evolved from a marginalized dance form to a respected art form, with many different styles and influences. Today, tango is a globally recognized dance and music genre known for its passion, sensuality, and intricate footwork. Celebrated Czech composer Martin Hybler wrote this work originally for piano (four-hands), and it now also exists for two saxophones and piano, as well as this version for saxophone quartet arranged by Katerina Pavlikova.
