Light beams didn’t kill him….those are fluids that dio shoots out of his eyes, also their reasoning is that DIO’s body is weaker in part 3 because it stated that the body is rejecting him, he’s able to keep up with his own stand which is as fast as Star platinum, therefore following that logic, Jonathan > part 1 Dio > part 3 DIO ~ the world, it’s not that hard to understand tbh
also, even if they we're light beams, Jonathan did in fact put his hands up before they could reach him, they just so happen to have also gone through him.
Jonathan blocked the beams, they just went through him anyways. Also considering that Joseph dodged light and just barely dodged and reflected the beams, they gotta be at least near light speed which makes Jonathan's feat of blocking it more impressive.
Honestly, even without bullshit power scaling (on both sides), I still think Jonathan would have won. Hamon is kinda busted. Also, Jonathan is not the dumbest JoJo. According to Araki, he's smarter than Josuke, but not as smart as Joseph or Jotaro, and about as smart as Giorno. He is (unsurprisingly) the physically strongest, and (apparently) tied with Giorno as both the most attractive and with the highest willpower. He is, however, the unluckiest and is tied with Joseph as having the least "explosive power," which I take to mean not having an absolute freight train Stand (in which case, apparently Crazy Diamond hits harder than even Star Platinum)
@@EnemyStandUser_ Sure, that's probably a fair enough comparison. I'd actually put a bit more weight on these than those, just because Stand stats are a lot more vague and less tangible, but we can definitely agree that not even Araki himself is a reliable source of information.
Well in part 3 Dio said that Jonathan's body was rejecting him. So Dio in part 3 is weaker than his part 1 self. Before you say anything part 3 Dio is stronger with the world ,but we see Dio react to light speed attacks without the world . So an overall weaker version of himself was able to do it. So part 3 Dio with the world > part 1 Dio > part 3 Dio no the world.
YES. Why don't people get this? Dio added 0 ACTUAL STRENGTH to Jonathan's body! And, before people say, "But the picture they used was after he absorbed Joseph's Blood!" We have to keep in mind, Jonathan's body didn't have the time to process and accept Dio, AND the only increase we saw was for THE WORLD. If Dio had other options, he wouldn't definitely used his Lazers or freezing on Jotaro

At the VERY least, Jonathan is comparable to light speed, because he is comparable to other hamon users. And I don't think Joseph and Caesar outright dodged light either, just reacted fast.
Dio's body was outright stated to be weaker (as noted by the sidebar twice iirc), due to Johnathan's body rejecting him, thus the argument can be made that Johnathan can just scale directly to Part 3 Dio (in addition to a plethora of other things Dio has done such as the Eye Beam thing splitting a cloud, which Johnathan reacted to [albeit it ripped through his hand] ). As for the other stuff Tanjiro stuff scaling wise, most of it involves manga spoilers which I wouldn't want to well you know spoil, but uh yeah mostly that.

The verbal consent Is that Jonathan does scale to the part 3 stuff because there was no indication that DIO had gotten faster or stronger within the time difference between arcs. Not to Mention that he was debatably weaker in part 3 because his body was confirmed to be resisting him. And also, Another reason the scaling is fair is because in part 3: That’s Jonathan’s freaking body. And even if you only wanted to go off of scaling, When Jonathan fought DIO In Part 1, he never got shit blitzed whenever they threw hands
They literally had faith in a 13-year-old kid than in an adult in their 20s with much more potential Jonathan not only showed more power, he showed that even without his sword he can continue fighting, which if you take away Tanjiro, he is already gone, he goes to heaven lol That's one of the thousand things I love about Jojo's, that even on the verge of defeat, the Joestars will always have one last card to play, none of the power of the script, nor power ups taken out of nowhere. It is only strategy and determination that lead the Joestar to victory Tanjiro also has his strengths and potential, but I highly doubted that a child would beat an adult with experience and even with less training than he has obtained. In conclusion, Tanjiro may have had more training and fucked the most powerful vampire in his world, but compared to Jonathan who despite receiving little training, He managed to defeat Dio being a vampire that was extremely more lethal and powerful than Michael Jackson vampire version of Demon Slayer. Jonathan may perhaps be the weakest Jojo but determination and courage are what make him great, brave and a strategist.

Either way, Death Battle is doing mental gymnastics as always, completely wanking character feats. SRSE aren't even light, just fluids thrown out by Dio/Straizo through their eyes at high pressure and speed. Also, you can't scale JoJo's to other JoJo's, that's kinda the whole point of having them be different. Jonathan was a full-on juggernaut, his tremendous size, the fact that they needed 4 people to slow him down when playing rugby, that he can go toe-to-toe with vampires (even when he didn't have hamon), and we're talking vampires, the same creatures that take down buildings with a sliced-up hand. Not to mention Jonathan is actually a former boxer. Comparing him to Joseph is ridiculous, sure they're the same size and MAYBE same musculature, but Joseph is shown being more agile, doing backflips when dodging, catching up with Kars and being a tactical genius. Jonathan's strength comes from being a tank and outpowering opponents, while Joseph's strength comes from being a trickster and outsmarting opponents.
They compared Jonathan to Joseph in terms of speed and reaction time since he’s clearly able to keep up with DIO who is also ftl it’s not mental gymnastics it’s called basic scaling and saying u can’t scale the other JoJos to each other is straight up ridiculous

@@marmyeater that's why I said it was sloppy. They could have made a better argument for lightspeed Jonathan especially with DIO scaling and to get Jonathan's AP higher, They could have just used the ship explosion feat or Jolyne scaling because Tarkus cliff feat really only gets small building

@@mev1221 it's complex. Light speed honestly is the best thing to compare him too. Since the Red Stone of Aja absorbed Sunlight and fired out a literal laser beam, and Joseph dodged it. And it's been said Jonathan was equal to him in hamon, but was physically superior to Joseph
