Tank and The Bangas are a soul based band from New Orleans. They are known for performing with an high energy. The group plays music falling in the the genres of soul, r&b, hip hop, funk, spoken word, and jazz. They have been performing together almost 2 years and have had the pleasure of performing at the Jazz and Heritage Festival, Write NOLA Festival, League of Black Women Conference, and many many more events. The group has released 2 albums RandoMe and RandoME reloaded. They are set to release their upcoming project in January 2013. Tank and The Bangas are led by lead singer Tarriona Tank Ball, Jarred "Nation" Savwoir (Bass), Norman Spence (keys), Josh Johnson (drums), and Nita Bailey (percussions). The group has toured in places such as, Houston, Austin, Philadelphia, New York, Washington, Mobile, and many other cities. They are set to hit the road again summer 2013.

I discovered Tank and the Bangas via their Tiny Desk performance, like many other people, and I have been watching their videos ever since. I find it amazing how much this group has grown from their older performances such as this one. I can't wait to see the future for them!

It's been said before but this is a killer performance from the drummer, those hi hats, toms, fills, bass drum... god dammit the whole bloody thing! Masterclass for all you young aspiring stick men out there... p.s. my 6yr old girl loves the video for this by the way. Still hope, talent and love out there thanks to people like this which helps cut through all the scaremongering in our lives and reminds us of the beauty of life and being human really is. Ooh better bugger off, getting all emotional now. Keep Banging!! xxx

This has got to be one of the most fly performances I have seen. That backdrop of new orleans was so gangsta! The band was killing and of course Tank and her singers went in! Crazy energy!

New Orleans AKA: Nola, The Big Easy, Who Dat Nation, The Boot. Known for Mardi Gras, New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Baby Cakes, New Orleans Pelicans, Fine Southern Cuisine, Soul Food, Cajun/Creole Food, Italian Food, Top notch musicians, singers, actors, Bourbon Street, Street Cars, Super Sunday Second Lines, Jazz Fest, Essence Fest, French Quarter Fest, Po Boy Fest, Voodoo Fest, and many many other festivals, New Orleans Super Dome. Infamous for crooked politicians, high crime rate, pot holed street, flooding, being below sea level, Hurricane Katrina, high ass car insurance rates, poor academic public school performances, blighted property, gentrification. The good, the bad, the ugly. My beloved city. It is what it is.

BalconyTV No probs, the filming and sound recording of this is well sorted especially being able to minimise the wind noise and all. I'll be showing this to my kids for years to come because magic has been captured. x
