This 2:14-minute clip was shot last weekend (Oct 20th) at our Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar in Ashville, NY. The clip shows one of the three tanker fill sites in operation. This site was the first one put in service and used a 6-inch dry fire hydrant as the water supply source. The hydrant was unable to support a 1,000 gpm flow and probably had some strainer restriction or blockage. However, the draft pumper crew did a nice job of hustling and loading tankers as fast as possible. The 4-inch LDH and discharge made a big difference. The video is narrated by Mark Davis of GBW Associates, LLC.
