Bang on, I hate the all to common stagnant YT kebab rotation videos. Usually a red arrow or a circle in the thumbnail, a "Character" presenting it inviting comments or answers\thoughts to some stupid thoughtless question they pose, exaggerated hand gestures and stock music.
Tanka in WWI were seen as support for infantry, so when designing the tank they thought it didn't make sense for it to go fast. They thought it only needed to go as fast as the infantry so that it could give cover and mobile machine gun fire
Come on now, Bovington is only so big... LOL! But yeah, that would have been great; I just can't believe they haven't at least built a running replica of one, like the WW1 British tank. It would be a big attraction for fans and revenue.
They probably would not have been able to drive it around since the Maus was prone to have issues really quickly (such as engine failures, tracks breaking down easily, etc).
@@So4ny_Balesh Yes. We know all about the T-34/76. The Tank Museum does not own one. The example it does have, is on loan from Finland, who captured it during the Winter War against the USSR. This is explained in their video about the tank.
Tankfest 2023, my dad, my best friend and me will be attending the full event, thats a promise. (birthday present for my dad) You guys are doing an awesome job of keeping history alive!

Goodluck with that dude! Keep me updated if that happens
When I was in the US Army, 1988-2006, I was lucky enough to be able to drive the 577, 113, 88, Abrams and Bradley and M60 Patton and lots of wheeled vehicles as well. Military vehicles are awesome machines.
I havent managed to attend one of these for some time but would definitely recommend it to anyone. You do get to ride in some including other types of military vehicles. Even my wife who is no tank fan enjoyed our visits.
Very cool to see the Bovington vehicles go around like this, such beautiful sound too, and such majestic metal beasts, a real feat of human engineering to get things that massive moving, and thinking up such machines in the first place. Bit disappointed the British Heavy Tank Mark ??? shown on the thumbnail wasn't driving though (it's my favourite tank design family, and the reason I clicked on this video) but it's cool to see the A7V replica out driving, it's definitely menacing - Like a medieval fortress suddenly sprouting legs!
6:28 Sherman who move after M4A2EB "Fury", with a scrim on the turret, is a model M4A3 (105), armed with a 105 mm M4 howitzer, as well as 12.7 mm M2HB and 7.62 mm M1919A4 machine guns from the company Browning.
Agreed. the M103 is a gorgeous heavy tank. I believe that this is also the last running M103 in the world as well, which makes it even better. besides that fact, I honestly have a thing for them Shermans. It's always good to see those driving around.
The Cougar at the beginning is labelled as United States. It was a tank trainer and mobile fire support version of the AVGP group made and used in Canada
I had this idea years back called "TANK PRIX" were tank crews from all over the world compete , winner gets gold 2nd silver, 3rd bronze also winner gets to carry torchlight and parade through capital city of every nation it competed against, it could work. Imagine, lynx ,leopard, adrams all full throttle on a track cuttin corners rolling cause of de-track what a show while racing against each other they can fire dummy flash bangs.
Superb coverage of some of the most Iconic and impressive A.F.V 's from the dramatic timelines of the 20 th century. Fantastic collection of these vehicles ans so important thathey have been preserved
it's such a trip seeing the WW1 tanks. Like the WW2 and post war tanks are awesome, but there's something special about seeing functioning WW1 tech, even if they are replicas of the originals. it's still awesome just to see them at all, let alone out there rolling around.
Yeah that tank is in Russia and it can't be ship to London because it's heavy af and maybe it can break easily like engine failure or damages tracks because It's a prototype and never seen in combat
I hope the people who made that amazing A7V replica will ever make a replica of either the Bob Semple or Schofield (including the amazing wheel system) - That would be so funny and cool to suddenly see one of these driving around at these shows
@@spicy5630 Das ist richtig...unter 90000 dollar bekommen sie kein restauriertes Kettenkrad eher mehr da sie sehr begehrt sind liegt der Preis bis zu 120.000 euro
>see the TLAV roll down, "eh, worse case they'll call it an M113 and credit the US" "M113 UK" >Erm... ok? >I get excited seeing the Canadians Cougar roll up "Cougar United Stated" >seething maple rage intensifies
Haden Moser yea I was a bit sad it was my first time to bovington this year and first time to tank fest and was a little disappointed I didn’t get to see the tiger in action but was very happy to see the char 2b from Belgium
Sadly, there aren't any original complete ones. There is a reproduction German one in the thumb nail, the one that looks like a box. There is one British mark 5 (I think) land crawler being refurbished and one reproduction that runs, that guy Martin made. There isn't much aside from that, most were, melted down for scrap after ww1 or are buried in pieces in france and the likes.
What’s not to love about Bovington? Great video, thanks for not spoiling it with a robot voice and/or inappropriate soundtrack. Interesting to see the Chinese and Eastern Block tanks polluting the environment!
The Derpz there were only like 3 built on Caterpillar D7 chassis' and all. 3 had their armour and weapons removed when it became clear that the Japanese weren't gonna invade New Zealand
