Funny thing with Tanya giving the warning is that she didnt intentionally made her voice sound like a childs. That is her natural voice. Normally she changes the way she speaks so that people respect her more but since she speaking in a language that she just learned or just knows enough to give a warning she wasnt able to change the intonation of her voice. I mean it is pretty difficult to make your voice sound different while also focusing on talking in a different language. Thats also the reason why she looked angry at Visha and Weiss since she doesnt like her natural voice beeing heard especially by her subordinates. At least thats the reason i remember from the LN :)

With Tanya's training, she included all sorts of modern special ops training that includes Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Training which includes Anti-intelligence, pretty much resistance to torture. Her training was so brutal that they became elite of the elite even if we disregard their magic capabilities. It wasn't shown on the anime, but her battalion has almost no casualties. The main reason is the very thing she initially displayed as her screening test, decoys. Her battalion is highly capable at utilizing decoys, hence they normally have almost no casualties. Talking about misunderstandings, I don't know if you ever wondered about it, but the main reason Tanya is leading ahead of their formation is to fully utilize her "meat shields". If others tries to aim at the lead, the bullets should fly towards the rear part. Of course, this is seen by others on the completely opposite way. Also that's her actual voice that she used. She only talks more maturely in normal convo.

Tid Bit of this episode The show compresses the training arc but the real training was absolutely brutal. We are talking about US Marines level of training where they are taught food rationing and sleep deprivation, intense team coordination (In the manga they do not dig holes but instead aim their guns at every shells and explode mid air and if one of them fails it will hurt everyone), rigorous day and night marches in both light and no light condition, acquiring supply and evacuation planning behind enemy lines, (A freaking) resistance to interrogation training by torturing them (naked and yes even the girls in the team), etc. This unit is the best trained unit in the world cuz Tanya used modern training methods lol. The enemy consisted of 4 army group with each group being self sustained (Basically even non combatants are involved like cooks and stuff) and totaled 6 hundred thousand. So the enemy was divided into vanguard, main force and the rear guard. In the episode Tanya and her men faced the Vanguard. Tamaya is a Japanese expression which they say after a firework explodes. It one of the two companies which made fireworks and people use to shout the name of the company's firework which exploded.

Tanya went full drill-seargeant rant on Marine Corps from "Full metal Jacket" at her speech at the finish of training. With obvious change to mages and an Empire.

this is kinda what happended to our history.. in WW1, ottoman empire was still using line infantry tactics while the rest of the world advanced.. aircraft, magazine loaded rifles etc etc. so while the ottoman invaded with a massive army, they where just completely outmatched by technology and instantly lost

first of all thank you for bringing this series, it's an anime that I really appreciate and I'm glad you like it. Small fun fact the anime retraces in a more or less accurate manner historical facts and events that actually happened in the First World War, in this specific case the enemy army should be the Romanian one (Dakia should be a distortion of the name Dacia which was the name with which Romania was called during the Roman Empire) which brought many men into the conflict but they were poorly trained and had obsolete armaments for the time. The Central Powers only needed a few months to conquer more than half of their country.

Dakia or Dacia is ancient territory where Romania is today. Also Romanian car brand is called Dacia. Tanya acting like an innocent child will never leave my memory. But she fairly warned opposing military of their attack.
