Thank you for doing an actual demo. the other reviews are all talk but no show. I'm sure you've helped a lot of us making the decision cuz you know not all of us can afford a 9000 recreational vehicle.
Man i tell you what,for that price it cant be beat,thing looks nice and seems to have decent power looks like a nice trail runner to me.just keep up on maintenance keep those nuts and bolts tight with some blue lock tite should last a long time.
Dam that little chinese quad hauled pretty good. I gotta be honest I'm impressed with tao tao I thought they were trash but they've seemed to step up there game
@@highsocietypottery9381 it rides pretty damn good. I replaced the carb because the one that came in it was garbage. Other than that it rides well. Again if the rear wheel base was a little wider it would be even better
@@crispychris532 Supposedly they make wheel spacers for these Chinese quads that brings the wheels out further, that's one of the must do upgrades in another video that someone has along with better wider handlebars for more leverage, better front shocks, they're supposedly some knockoffs of expensive ones but he says they are much better than stock, he also suggests getting a good quality chain and many people upgrade the carburetor.
I just got mine they did a few upgrades. Do you have a skid plate underneath the engine? But yeah for a 170cc this sucker can boogy made for low end power tackled the sugar sand down here in FL like a champ. Also its cheaper to get parts for these VS paying a stupid amount for name brand crap like Polaris and the other big names.
These tao taos are beasts in anything i took mine through a 2 foot snow bank in my grandpas yard infact his rzr 570 got stuck but mine plowed through the snow things a tank
Any issues with engine vibrations?. Just bought my son a 125 cc and when you get to about 10-12 mph it revs up and vibrates like to the point of discomfort
not good, but it'll do it. just cheap chain drive, gotta get something w a rear differential for all that if your gonna go cheap or get a name brand w a chain that's my 2 cents anyway
@@Trotlining yeha the name brand new are quite expensive in Canad ahere some wiht roller bars can be as much as a cheape car like 20-25k so i was thinking of osmething cheaper but a cheap used one of name brand might be ok i was wondering if these are ok but ill see i guess ..but thanks for the reply

Dude so far I’ve had mine for a week and I love it. One thing I’ll say is the website says it can go 55mph and I’ve only gotten it up to 42mph and I’m an adult. I wonder how people get it up that fast. Going up hills is kind of hard it won’t go up high hills which isn’t a huge deal. Soft sand is pretty hard too but regular dirt and terrain handles fine! How fast have you gotten yours to?? And if so how did you achieve it?
Make sure you break it in first. The valves need to seat properly. Things need to wear in. Then change the oil again. About 10 hours of riding should do. Do a full inspection, set tire pressure, and get the alignment on point, brakes dialed in, and get your chain right. If you haven't already by chance, remove the speed limiter screw for the thumb throttle. If you have, here's my recommendations. (Actually, speaking of getting your chain right)....... Just start by regearing. Go 4-6 teeth larger on the rear sprocket. And use a good, high quality chain. D.I.D. for instance. Throw in an NGK coil, and an ngk plug. I went 1 step hotter on the plug. Replace the carb with a little bit larger authentic Mikuni, port the intake to match. Ditch the stock air intake and do a dual stage UNI filter. Get rid of the carb/epa crap. And the restrictions in the exhaust. (I.E. Debaffle or new slip on) Modded/high performance CDI. A couple/few hundred bucks (depending on how well you shop) and minimal sweat equity. But more than worth its weight in gold. New shocks also make them feel like a whole new animal. Mainly that rear shock though. You'll feel like you're riding a high end machine if you do all of the above. No accelleration problems, much snappier, and with higher revs, but the power to get it there, your top end will be higher. Same applies all across the board on the china quads. Oh......I also went around and hit every last bolt or scew with blue loctite, or high temp thread sealant, and snugged them all down. I mean EVERY nut, bolt, screw. That should pretty well cover everything that will hold it back and/or be a problem at some point. That being said, just like every other brand, some just run better, or faster, or live a longer life. Take care of it, and you should be ok. Hope this helps
@@MostlyPeacefulCombatVet....Not criticizing anyone but I would get that break in oil out of there after no more than an hour. All the China motors use basically the same stuff and its only slightly better than mayonnaise. Get it out of there as soon as possible. And after about 10 hours I would check and adjust the valves. Pretty easy to do on most China motors. They are actually based off old Honda designs. Adjust the valves that one time and you will feel a difference and that's the last thing you will have to do to it for quite some time.
@@oldskool1807 I completely agree. If taking it from a dealer that is. Did you buy from a dealer, or assemble, lube, and fine tune yourself? I forget that people tend to buy from the dealer. And It's hard telling what the dealerships stick in there. In fact, I wouldn't be able to trust it. Probably some .30 cent per quart crap. Our quads came fairly dry. A few tablespoons of oil, likely from assembly, and test run. But.... In my case (and what I recommend to people) I run "Motul" or "Driven" brand high zinc 10-40 break in oil from the start. And stand by 10 hours max. 5 hours minimum for me. (Any conventional/mineral oil will do. Zinc matters however, so I run high Zinc oils. I don't baby any new engine either. Alot of people have issues with ring and valve seating when run too light, not varying engine speed enough, not giving enough cool down time, or idled too long. I've torn these things down for big bore builds and research and have found that breaking these things in by the book, and breaking them in aggressively either or, results in the same exact tolerances and proper break in. (Assumption that a person is using quality mineral oil, with proper lash set, and is not running the engine too lean) And yes I do check and adjust valves as needed. Making sure they have the proper lash to begin with, and snug, (both are unlikely so do it up front then check again every 10 hours) will help ensure a long engine life. Very good info nonetheless. I have the 250 tao tao and have 290 hrs and not those problems and you want to know why?? IT'S A FREAKING 1700 ATV , RIDE IT LIKE ONE AND IT WILL LAST!!!.
lol, NO! I work the crap out of that thing!... if I was just gonna ride it up and down my lane I'd a got me a golf cart or some pansy go cart or something
If you don't mind a manual shift with a clutch, the Rhino is probably the route I would take. Better low end tq, far more top speed, and you can control it how you like. But....If you want something others can ride, or something where you don't have to think about gears, clutches, or stalling it out the bull is hard to beat. Best value for the $ by far IMHO.
