Tara Westover grew up preparing for the End of Days in rural Idaho with radical survivalist Mormon parents. At 17, she decided to educate herself as a means of escape, and earned a PhD in Intellectual History and Political Thought from Cambridge. Her book Educated is an account of her childhood and education.
'Educated' is her first book.
Recorded at The Tabernacle in London in March 2018.

Tara Westover is extraordinary in the way she persisted to break free from her family’s control and peruse an Education. I couldn’t put her book down. And, as soon as I finished it, I was planning to re-read it. Listening to her speak is even more enlightening.

i am reading it now...i forced myself to put it down to process everything...Tara has such a gift for emotionally descriptive prose...trial, heartache and eventual triumph..Tara is a gift to the world!

I really enjoyed listening to the book #Educated on #Audible, great story and I admire Tara for sharing her life story. It takes courage to do something like that.
