A guy from Oklahoma cant drive a stick shift?? Anywho, I believe the original Abigail Folger car is in Georgia, with the Bradley bumper sticker still on it. And for the '59 Fairlane being only 10 years old in 1969, it surely was ragged out! I wonder what happened to Steven Parent's car? Im guessing his parents got rid of it? Anyone know?

As the owner of a 78 911, I appreciate this car based video….and your correct pronunciation of the name Porsche. Those cars didn’t change too much year to year…..just small evolutions. I’ve been wanting to ‘back date’ my car to the look of Mr. Sebring’s for a while now. I doubt I ever will.

Can't wait to see the extended cut. OUATIH is probably my favorite movie of the last 20 years as I'm sure it is to most people of a certain vintage. I personally found it very cathartic, Tarantino making the Boogiemen of my Childhood get their deserved comeuppance. Funny side note. Ever since I was a kid (Thx Hot Wheels) I loved the look of the 67-68 Firebirds and in fact owned one for about a week (a long story) but I had no clue that Abigail Folger owned one until I saw the movie.

Growing up in Southern CA, it was fun to see the Oscar Meyer Wiener mobile. I used to see that thing out on the road all the time. Also running into situations where they were filming all the time. It just seemed like another ordinary day. I don't remember much when it came to the murders really. I was only about 5 yrs old when that happened. Such a sad and tragic story. Over the years I've become very familiar with everything that happened. In the late 70's my family moved to the Central Valley area of CA and the small town I lived in had some dealings with Manson family members because of the prison Charles Manson was at. I had a family member who was a correctional officer at that prison and he mentioned how they had special rules in place for those who guarded him.

I'm a car geek and a purist when it comes to the cars in period movies. The one thing nearly all of them get wrong, like this movie, is that cars that were 5-10 years old would have been a lot dirtier and banged up in 1969 cause people didn't care about old cars then, except for classics or high end euro sports cars. The '59 Ford killer car is the one exception, due to its featured status. One difference between the real and movie Fords is the real car is a rare hardtop and the movie car is a sedan...finding another hardtop would be a needle in the haystack. Also, a too-new car always shows up in period movies, like the '71 LeMans in the background in one scene in this movie. And that Ghia was way too hot for a real VW, makes sense that it has a subie in it. But overall, this movie gets it pretty good, which is so important cause S Cali was car-central back then. My dream job would to be a car wrangler for the movies

Can't tell you how much I love the OUATIH videos. Obliviously, not covered in this video but the history behind RIck's Cadillac is interesting as well. I believe up until the production of OUATIH (correct me if I'm wrong) the car actually belonged to Michael Madsen. The same car is used in Reservoir Dogs as well & is the car that Michael Madsen's Mr. Blonde drives. So in the Tarantino-verse perhaps Mr. Blonde was fan of Rick Dalton!

Fairlane 500 Galaxie. 1959 was first year of Galaxie and was a trim level of Fairlane 500. Called just Galaxie in 1960. Galaxie 500 debuted in 1962 as premium Galaxie, as Fairlane became mid-sized car in 1962. Rick Dalton's Coupe DeVille wasn't mentioned, but I understand it is the same car used in Reservoir Dogs.

A totally nice guy! What a collection of beauties he has! 😊 Most people would give a kidney to own them. Being a teen in the early 1980's it was mandatory to own a muscle car. I was fortunate....my Dad bought a 66 Ford Mustang the week I was born. He stored it and it was my 16th birthday present. It had 14 original miles. All the guys in my school had Chevelles, Chargers, Firebird, and Trans Ams. They bought them and worked on restoring them. We had a young guy named Steve Brandt...his nickname was Bondo Barney. His car looked gorgeous but under that paint job it was 70% Bondo, lol! 😂😂😂

In the 1976 helter skelter movie the 59' Ford has a dent in the chrome above the grill & does not have a miss match gold front fender ? I like to imagine some of the aged Family members seeing the movie and wondering how they reacted to depictions and the end! I know the theatres I saw it in were basically rooting on Cliff and Brandy mauling them Dirty Fuckin Hippies but if you were an actual past associate of the group in the audience I hope they felt like they stood out like a sore thumb. That is the magic of Tarantinos revisionist justice!

Tarantino's attention to detail missed the mark on Sebring's Porsche; big ass ugly US spec impact boots on the rear, not to mention this '73 is lowered. Jay's 911 was a semi-automatic too btw, not that it's relevant to any scenes. Also, using the same Corvair in so many scenes, C'mon Quinton..lol Definitely one of my favorite Tarantino flicks!

Then there's the 1950 MG TD Roadster used in the scene where Roman Polanski is driving Sharon Tate to the Playboy Mansion. Tarantino was inspired to use that car as a reference to the 1969 film Photo Shop, a meandering film featuring that car driving through Tarantino's favorite city Los Angeles.
